The legal age of driving should be raised. To start off, there are teen that can’t mentally and physically drive. Distracting objects such as cell phones, friends in the same vehicle, radio, and anything they can think of are all deadly when driving a 4,000 pound vehicle. Teens are most likely going to be involved in drugs and alcohol. All in all, the legal driving age should be raised for numerous reasons.
Teenagers can now drive if or when they turn 16 years of age. Driving is a sort of responsibility and there are prove today that many teenagers with handicap parents in Texas can drive well on the road. lowering the voting age would increase turnout, allow teenagers to contemplate on issues that directly affect them and motivate schools to improve civic education. Texas has a very low turnout among people of voting age. This year, there were 14.7 republican voters turn out and 7.2 democrats turn out.
In the 1970’s the drinking age was raise from 18 to 21 the reason the government pass this law was to stop drinking and driving. The government believes that adults 21 were more responsible to not drink and drive. However, why do we still have such a problem with drinking and driving in America? That a drinking age of 21 did not solve our problem.
“There are also arguments that young people shouldn 't be in a rush to drink--waiting three more years isn 't much of an inconvenience-and of course, the safety factor” (“Lowering Drinking Age Limit to 18”). Many who are against the whole idea of changing the drinking age to eighteen often have the arguments such as the safety of their loved ones and others. A statistic says that 25,000 lives have been saved because of the drinking age being twenty-one and it continues to prevent tragedies while car crashes are being decreased by 16%. (“Lowering Drinking Age Limit to 18”) Many car crashes are due to drunk driving, and having young adults at the age of eighteen allowed to buy and drink alcohol can lead to new drivers making wrong decisions on the road.
The driving age should not be raised because some 18-year-olds are worse drivers than 16-year-olds. Recently, crashes for 16-year-olds have been decreasing, while crashes for 18-year-olds are increasing. Why? People are waiting until 18 to get a license so they can skip Driver’s Ed. Although the 18-year-olds still have to take a written test, they are less experienced when they get their licenses.
Every 15 minutes a teenager will die due to drunk driving. In the world, on average, 96 teens will die every day. The number of deaths would increase if the drinking age was lowered. The drinking age should not be changed. The age should stay the same.
Should the Driving Age Be Raised to 18? I take the position that the driving age should not be raised to 18. Many people believe that 16 year olds are too young to drive. However, many 16 to 17 year olds and their families disagree. Teens enjoy their freedom, and not all teens are stereotypically “wild” or “out of hand” on the road.
Many people believe that age doesn’t matter, it’s only the experience that does. Others say age plays a big role due to the fact that the younger the people are, the less mature they act. There are so many reasons to why the driving age should be raised. Thousands of people wonder what could be done to prevent all these tragic fatalities and between all those debates raising the legal age for driving has been the most controversial. Car accidents are reported every day.
If you raise the driving age limit, many of these teens would lose there jobs by being unable to arrive to work. When teens have careers they gain responsibility and money. Why would we want to rob them of these opportunities? These teenagers are contributing to society just as much as any adult currently is. If we raise the driving age, we would loose thousands of hard working young men and women.
I think the driving age should stay at the age of 16 because as you get older you have more experience driving. Every thing goes best when you start young because of all the practice you've had over the years. starting at 16 can can lead some teens to good cares like: NAS car, or driving for movies. I think the age of 16 is a good place to start, because its like they say know more about the job before the interview, so that way you have a better chance of getting the job. Safety still is a problem because 16 year olds are reckless as well so its a bigger chance that more people could be in danger young teens that are behind the wheel going fast and doing what ever else they do when there alone trying to be cool for who ever.
Driving at 16 allows parents to oversee young drivers before they are legally independent adults. Lawmakers may think by raising the minimum driving age that they can minimize accidents, but in actuality, they are depriving teens the chance to learn under adult supervision. If the driving age were raised to 18, kids would be out on their own and learning to drive on their own. At 16, teens are still covered by their parents ' insurance driving closer to home, which offers more support should they get in an accident. Before teens leave home, parents can be sure they have a solid driving history that they can be comfortable with while gaining valuable experience.
After all, it will only add to the total loss of life from the various errors performed by sixteen-year-old kids. It is unseemingly to keep something that has time and time proved itself to be appalling. It is for this reason that eighteen should be the age at which adolescents are given cars. The legal driving age should be raised to eighteen because it will keep the streets safer, drivers will be more mature, and it is foolish to oppose this indubitable truth.
As I think raising the driving age to 18 is a benefit with less harm.while not raising it will harm lives.therefore,it should be discussed. Futhermore, traffic accidents is affecting the lives of the future generation. I think raising the driving age to 18 plays a part in preventing massive car crashes. As its being found that the underage drivers are more likely to go into car accidents than adults ' 'Those who favor raising the driving age say that statistics show teenagers are more likely to get into accidents than adults ' '.(Palicz).I assume if we raise driving age to 18 such incidents will decrease. I also believe adults are more prepared for driving than underage
Because of safety concerns, many states have increased the age at which teens can begin to drive. Teens need to have their own experiences. Driving at sixteen is a great way for teens to indulge in experiences and start a more independent life. The driving age should not be raised because driving gives one freedom, driving allows teens to work, and driving teaches responsibility.
The teenage driving age should not be raised because of the safety and emotional health it provides. Teenage driving allows young adults to gain independence. Teenagers spend a lot of time at sporting events, sports practices, after school activities and hanging out with friends, which requires parents to bring them
