Pros And Cons Of Legalizing Prostitution

I strongly believe that a lack of education is a strong contributing factor to the increasing statistics of Human Trafficking. Not only do the Victims and Vulnerable people need to be educated but also those of corporate bodies and entities, boarder security, police officers and teachers. However, there is also a high level of corruption within the government and policing agencies when it comes to Human Trafficking. After all it is all about making a big sum of money, which to some people will not stop at any measures to ensure they have an extra cent in their pocket.

Yet, I strongly disagree with the idea of legalising prostitution as a way to reduce Human trafficking. Yes, it will make the idea of prostitution legal but that is not to say that smuggling, kidnapping and blackmailing individuals into the trade won’t occur. I believe that Human Trafficking will never be able to be fully ‘eradicated’ as there is always going to be someone who disagrees with the law and does not want to conform with the rules. I believe that legalising prostitution will only add to the numbers who use the trade as it is only when laws and penalties start to be put in place that the epidemic slowly begins to reduce. We see people like ‘Adam’ who don’t disagree to the idea of prostitution, however, will turn away from a shady bar if he believes that the prostitutes are in fact victims of human trafficking. I also believe that if Prostitution is to become legal then those victims who are in fact being trafficked it will become harder for them to get out of the trade as the policing agencies will have very little to go on to arrest the ‘John’s’ of our society as what they are doing Is legal. I believe that this would in fact enhance the statistics and prevalence of Human Trafficking and therefore would not be a strong enough option or plan to eradicate human
