There has always been the conflict over whether or not the legal drinking age should be changed. Some people protest that by lowering the drinking age younger people know what to expect about the effects of alcohol when they get older. Others believe drinking at a young age can lead to addiction and alcoholism, liver failure, and other serious problems thus increasing death rates and alcoholics. There are more serious negative outcomes that happen with teen drinking such as drunk driving and unintentional terrible decision making. Then that will not be enough and the will move on to the harder liquors and before they know it they are a full on alcoholic with a failing liver or other organ failures and most likely a whole bucket list of people they have stolen from or cut ties with because of their addiction. Then if somehow they take that first sip and there fine the possibility of them becoming addicted is much higher if they start when they're sixteen or eighteen as opposed to if they started when they were twenty or older and there minds have more time to develop and they can thoroughly think there decision over.
