Great again’ implies that America was once great but no longer is. And as far as who said it is concerned; of course, as United States is holding its presidential election on Tuesday 8 Nov 2016 and presidential candidates are holding campaigns. As the campaign seeks to influence the decision making process, it may have been said during during their campaign by the candidates. Obama’s “Un-America”: In 2008 people voted for hope and change, but is that really what the American citizens received? Many promises were made by this community organizer, but were they truly kept? The second amendment and the input of gun control laws has been a big issue, especially when the number of mass murders and shootings are continuing to grow in the United States. Putting a limit or constraint on people who own guns will not stop the problem. Putting a limit may hold someone back for a short period of time, but somehow will still find one, purchase it, and use it. Some people just own a gun for the simple purpose of protection. Three major components of the second amendment will be affected if some type of gun control were to take place and those three components are concealed carry, weapons of mass destruction, and invasion of privacy.
Absolutely there needs to be some control, and no doubt more stringent regulations to own and conduct a gun than we bear today, but taking weapons out from us all together would be a catastrophe! The crime rates here in the United States have been on the rise for years and though we need to do something about it and fast, gun control is not the mere result. In the past, the major gun control legislations that have been put into effect have not stopped people from obtaining firearms (Gun Control.) There have also been cases in the past where cities have attempted to ban handguns. After the ban was put into effect, murder rates tended to rise instead of drop, unlike what most people might assume. Crime rates and violence also skyrocketed after the bans were put into effect. Another problem with taking guns away, or banning them, is that the government cannot expect everyone to abide by the laws.
Gun control also limits our constitutionally derived right to own firearms. If gun control is enforced, law-abiding citizens will be forced to give up their guns and their right to own guns, while many criminals who own guns may illegally keep theirs. As the saying goes “If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.” Guns are an important aspect of our society in many ways. They allow for protection, recreation, and hunting.
Moreover, if the ownership of guns is limited, it will help prevent unnecessary deaths and violence caused by gun owners, especially students. Gun ownership should be totally controlled and regulated by the government because they will help in limiting the number of people who own guns. When gun
