Open Carry or Open for Disaster
On the big issue of open carry, which deals with openly carrying a handgun with a valid concealed hand gun license. I believe that the law allowing open carry should not have passed because anyone could obtain a gun for nefarious purposes, terrorist and criminals can walk around more openly with weapons and unworried, and open carry can cause a great deal of panic and distress in citizens. Texas one of open carry’s biggest supporters on the topic agrees with the law but many citizens do not and for good reasons. So many criminals will feel safer and stronger being able to carry a gun without fear or being stopped or checked. Open carry could lead to mass shootings being less identifiable. I n Colorado a call was mad to 911 with regards to a man with a gun. The man shot about three people before he was brought down, “… [because] a police dispatcher…reacted without urgency to a 911 call about [the shooter] because of Colorado’s open carry law. If that wasn’t reason enough, because of open carry an increase in the number of armed robberies will occur. If you were a civilian with a gun, you wouldn’t know who was on your side and who wasn’t; you wouldn’t be able to distinguish a civilian from a terrorist. On the other hand a terrorist knows exactly who he works for and who he works with, and is not afraid to lose his life. Yes civilians will have will have weapons to fight back but as before they know you, you don’t know them. Terrorist will be able to take and disarm hostages, and commit mass killings. Mass killings are going to be inescapable, at some point because terrorist will kill who is armed first. Concealed carry is better because terrorist won’t know who is armed and therefore are less likely to attack that
