On April 11th, Trump tweeted out against Russia saying, “Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria. Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and ‘smart!’ You shouldn’t be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!” Not long after this Trump sent out another tweet saying he wants to improve Russian relations, “Our relationship with Russia is worse now than it has ever been, and that includes the Cold War. There is no reason for this. Russia needs us to help with their economy, something that would be very easy to do, and we need all nations to work together. Stop the arms race?” Trump went from threatening Russia to asking why they weren't better allies in less than 24 hours. George Washington for example had many presidential precedents, one of his most famous being, the number of terms he decided to be in office. Washington chose to end his presidential career after serving two terms. The president after him, John Adams, chose to serve one, and after him Thomas Jefferson only served two. No president after George Washington served more than two terms besides Franklin Roosevelt. A president was able to serve more than two but none of them did. Later it became a rule that no president could serve more than two terms, but before that, the unofficial rule was held in place by George Washington's decision to stop at two terms.
