For next year, I will either be going to a community college here in Arizona, or I will be attending the University of Hawaii at Manoa in Oahu, Hawaii. I haven’t decided which one to go to yet. I plan to apply to Hawaii once I get my SAT scores back. I took the SAT on November 7th, and I won’t get them back until November 24th. If I get accepted there, then I will need to consider my pros and cons of going to either Hawaii or staying here. I have pros and cons for going to the University of Hawaii. The pros for going to Hawaii, if I get accepted, will be that I get to live on my own, I will move back to Hawaii, and I will meet a lot more new people. The pros for staying would be that I would save money by living at home, I wouldn’t have as high student loans, and I am going to be a first time aunt next year. I would save money on rent, food, and utilities if I just live at home. I haven’t looked at all of the numbers yet, but I might be able to pay for community fully which means I won’t have any student loans. My sister-in-law just told us last weekend that she was pregnant. I’m not sure if I want to miss out on my future niece/nephew’s first few years of life. The cons of staying and going to community college would be that I won’t be able to branch out, I will be missing the same social interaction as if I was living in a dorm, and community is only a two year degree. I won’t be able to branch out and meet new people, since I will most likely know a lot of the people going to community. I won’t live in a dorm and have a roommate, which means I won’t have the same social interaction that my introverted self really needs.
