If overcrowded Germany is able to accept as many refugees as they can hold, why can’t the U.S. - with plenty of open space for refugees - take in more? The issue of the Syrian refugee crisis really took off about 6 years ago (2011) when about 5000 Syrians fled to Lebanon due to the harsh fighting in their home town. From then on, it has continuously brought up all over the world and has only gotten worse. Recently, the Syrian refugee crisis has had a lot of attention drawn to both itself and the United States. The issue of refugees is a very controversial and complicated topic that many do not understand. There are valid points for both the allowance of refugees, and the refusal which leads many people to be conflicted in what is right and wrong. In Vermont, Refugees have been coming into the state and helping their economy out immensely. They are filling up all the job opportunities that aren’t being filled and are doing a good job with their work which helps the town to make money. Another thing that they are doing to help our economy is filling up houses and apartments that are going up and no one is living in. Many of the houses they are buying were vacant before which meant they had a higher chance of robberies and vandalism in the community. They are helping to keep the housing market up and are also helping to make more money for the town. Many of the businesses in these small cities need more people working for them and if Refugees are there to help, they’ll take them. Many of the smaller cities and states are losing their population so when more people come in, they’re helping to increase the population as well as make the economy larger and
