Psi Chi Journal Diversity Steven V. Rouse writes in his 2016 essay, "Increasing the Representation of Diversity in the Psi Chi Journal," about the significance of boosting diversity in psychology research, particularly in the Psi Chi Journal. The author contends that studies must be more diverse to better understand human behavior and brain processes. In this paper, I will address four issues surrounding this study, including the research question(s), techniques employed, significant findings, and the author's conclusions. The author also emphasizes the significance of offering assistance and training to underrepresented groups, such as mentorship programs and training seminars, to foster the development of skills and confidence in people from various backgrounds. The author points out that although it will take sustained effort and dedication from the discipline to increase the representation of diversity in psychology research and the Psi Chi Journal, the potential advantages to both researchers and society are substantial. To further extend the breadth of psychology study, the author advocates encouraging variety in research questions and themes, which can be accomplished by urging researchers to consider the viewpoints and experiences of people from various backgrounds when establishing their research topics and choosing study participants. In order to ensure that varied viewpoints are represented in the review process, the author also suggests modifying the review process and publication criteria. For example, she suggests hiring diverse reviewers and forcing authors to discuss the cultural significance of their findings (Rouse, 2020).
