If an extra 2 years of college originally happened without guided pathways, what problem are they solving? Students are still not finishing on time and making career decisions even more difficult due to the fact that they aren 't allowed to switch majors/courses whenever they don 't feel comfortable anymore. Focus 2 Assignment – Reflection Upon completing the Focus 2 career assessment program, I am quite impressed at the quality of information it presents. It allowed me to not only look at careers that would fit my personality, but also those that take into consideration the fields I am already interested in. Also, as with any form of self-assessment, there were strengths and weaknesses that I did not expect based on how I feel I live my life currently. Beginning chronologically, the program had me complete two subjective, current measures of my professional career.

Underemployment is beginning to be more persistent in college graduates which shows that there might be something wrong in the pathway into a career. The purpose of this essay is to analyze the article, “Will You Sprint, Stroll or Stumble Into a Career?” by New York Times author Jeffrey J. Selingo, and to inform students that there are certain pathways that can benefit you successfully to have a career.
Among the various assignments, the career essay had the most impact on this ability. Through the career essay, I was challenged to showcase my professional aspirations, research the industry, and convincingly communicate my qualifications. This assignment sharpened my persuasive writing techniques and taught me the importance of tailoring my language, tone, and structure to engage and teach the audience. Additionally, the career essay prompted me to self-reflect, allowing me to identify areas for improvement and cultivate a deeper understanding of myself as a professional and a writer. Moreover, participating in a personal interview further deepened my skills in adapting to various formats, as it required me to think of what format would effectively communicate a conversation while also shedding light on the knowledge learned through the interview.
Overall I believe that the poor grade I received in this test is due to the fact that I didn't double check my answers and read carefully even though I had plenty of time to do so. It waqs a very poor decision on my part but I learned from it and in the future I will make sure that I double check all of my answers and that I read very carefully all of the questions and think throughly my response. My first wrong answer was number 6, it asked about the what group was overlooked in criminal researched but it was indeed the fastest growing majority in prison.
After completing my four-year degree, I began working as an intervention aide at a continuing education high school. My task was to provide support to a caseload of students who were off-track and help them get back on course to graduate. As I worked with these students throughout their final years of high school, I discovered a passion for counseling. It was fulfilling to offer guidance and assistance to these students who were facing challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. One particular student, who was a senior when I was assigned to him, had been written off by several staff members who believed he would never graduate.
