Psychology; a subject which explores the complexity of the human mind and behaviour is a career path I see myself pursuing in the future. After studying Psychology for a year, I began to question a lot of things which had gone unnoticed previously. For instance; the impact irrational thoughts have on our behaviour or the importance of a healthy childhood. Although A-Level Psychology has answered several questions, I crave to learn more. I recollect being seated at a Psychology discussion where I learnt the full particulars of the broad subject. This was when I comprehended that Psychology is a subject that I would want to read at university. From a young age, I have engaged with a family member who is diagnosed with autism. Ever since, I have picked upon several traits and behaviours of an autistic child and how to communicate with them effectively. Firstly, being a ‘Learning Ambassador’ very much aided me in terms of becoming a better student in the classroom. As a Learning Ambassador, I had to observe lessons and give feedback to the teachers on how the classroom and teaching could be improved. Furthermore, I participated in several intercollege sports in within school which assisted my team work skills. Becoming a senior student and prefect provided me with authority in school and whilst partaking in several challenges, I believe that I was able to gain a lot more confidence. In addition, as part of being a senior student I was able to attend a 3 day trip to Lake District, where we were placed into groups through random sampling. This was significant as I was able to adapt to those around me. More recently, I received an acceptance letter from the Social Mobility Foundation which will aid me throughout my journey from higher education and
