Mr. Heck Tate was the first witness to testify at the trial. He says that Bob Ewell told him that Mayella was being raped, so he rushed to the scene. When he arrived at the Ewell property, Mayella was badly injured, with bruises on her arms and face, and there were finger marks on her throat. He notes that most of injuries were on the right side of her face, meaning that the beater was likely left handed. He also notes that no doctors brought to examine Mayella despite her injuries.

Michael attends school punctually, cordially, and prepared for any academic challenges he may face. In the rare instances when Michael has sought further clarification on assignments, he effectively seeks out and uses the additional information to produce high level academic work.
Recently, a negro named Tom Robinson has been jailed for supposedly raping a white woman, whose name is Mayella Violet Ewell. This is certainly biased since the family of Mayella did not provide any fact or evidence, rather only one witness who could have easily lied. Therefore, Tom Robinson could have been falsely accused of doing something a man like himself wouldn’t do. There are several reasons that suggest that Tom Robinson is innocent.
In the small town of Maycomb, a little girl named Scout believe that everyone was good, until she figured out that the town wasn't as innocent as she thought. The town seems like a nice and quiet place to live. it's very small and everyone throughout the community know each other very well. News travels fast And so does gossip. word got out that a man by the name of Tom Robinson, assaulted a woman and ran from the scene.
Long before Tom Robinson is introduced into the novel, it is clearly known to the reader that ‘negroes’ are considered in the lower class and always convicted guilty, regardless of the truth. Tom is accused of sexual rape by Bob Ewell’s daughter, Mayella Ewell, who is an obnoxious young lady with an attraction to Tom. Sheriff Heck Tate testifies that Mayella was hit on the right side of her face. Tom’s lawyer, Atticus Finch, believes that this is crucial evidence for Tom’s case and asks Heck, repeatedly, to clarify that it was the right side of her face: “It was her right eye… Which side again Heck?... The right side Mr. Finch” (192).
Although John Hinckley was trying to get Jodi Foster’s attention, when John HInckley shot President Ronald Reagan, Jodi didn't want anything to do with John. Just a normal day Ronald Reagan started his day out by announcing a speech at the National Conference Building and Construction Trades Department. Reagan finished his speech (to a group of trade unionists) around 2:25. All Mr. President had to do was walk 30 feet to his waiting limo. The Secret Service thought he didn't need a bulletproof vest because he didn't have to walk that far, but they were wrong.
Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis is a technique used to detect genetic diseases or chromosomal abnormalities in early human embryos. PGD is ethically controversial because it the screening involves the termination of embryos based on their expected genetic makeup. Furthermore, it is controversial whether where the line is drawn between PGD for medical uses and non-medical uses. For example, it is used to detect cancer causing genes or precursors for Alzheimer's disease. Non-medical uses would be to detect intelligence, height, and gender selection.

Respect is an important life skill needed to coexist with others in our current society. Whether it’s in elementary school or high school, we’ve always been taught to treat each other with respect. Here at JFK, our motto is “respect is the key to success”. The word respect, in my opinion, means to treat each other equally despite their difference in opinions, race, gender, or any other aspect that could skew your opinion on who someone is. I agree with the school motto, however, it doesn’t hold true in our school and can definitely be improved upon.
