Ever since the high school girls from Gainesville High School, Florida posted a really racist 14 minute video on Youtube, viewers of the video have been mad, and responded negatively. With over a million views on the video, death threats have been made against the girls as they casually bashed African-Americans for the public to see. Things that they were saying confused everyone watching as they spoke harshly about African-Americans for the public to see and implemented stereotypes. Now they cannot be forgotten. Everyone who has watched the video will always remember their faces and all the hatred that they spewed out. This Youtube video emphasizes on how active people are on coming together on one subject-racism and as a community convicting these girls. One of the girls in the Youtube video was apologizing for being part of the racist rant video and just breaks down tries to explain that because it was posted on the Internet, anyone could view it and that was the worst part is she doesn't know how many people were affected by her comments. My goal is to stress on how privacy is impossible on Youtube and that you cannot have control over what you have already posted. Sites like Youtube are generally made for the public eye to view. When one posts a video on Youtube, they have to understand that although everyone has freedom of speech, having control on what has already been said and posted becomes very difficult. This video will effect both girls in their future job hunting and other aspects of their lives. Viewers that found interest may have wanted to keep the video for memories so in case the video gets deleted they have a copy of i downloaded on their personal device.
