The Minimum Wage should be increased to 15 dollars an hour. Many people work at minimum wage and cannot support themselves or their family. Some people live on the streets with 2 children and a minimum wage job. It is hard for them to get a better job because they cant pay for good clothes for interviews or to take a shower or for shampoo and body wash. It is hard for them because they only make about 10 dollars an hour. If it is hard for people to live why hasn't it been raised? The last raise of the minimum wage was in 2009 and it was raised to be 7.25 dollars an hour. That is the government's lowest but it also depends on the state and business you work in or for. Seattle raised their minimum wage to 15 dollars an hour. That is a lot of money. It is almost double the government wage. Seattle's economy is also flourishing and doing exceptionally well. If you give more money to people they will spend more money and buy more things which means more tax money goes to Seattle which eventually goes back to the government. The government could be giving more people more money and be getting more money themselves at the same time. …show more content…

Seattle was the first major city to pay minimum wage workers at least 15 dollars an hour. When they did this more people got jobs, the city earned more money, and people got paid more.
