Quick fun facts about the FBI! One: the minimum applying age for an agent is 23, the maximum is 37. Two: they typically have the average 40 hour work week and three: up until 2012 according to their definition of rape, men couldn’t legally be raped. One of those is not like the other and definitely not a fun fact. For nearly 80 years, the FBI’s definition of rape was the “carnal knowledge of a female forcibly and against her will”. The definition was changed in 2012 but, this has not changed the fact that people brush male rape under the rug. Society refuses to believe that men are raped as often as women, or that male rape isn’t possible. They seem to forget that it doesn't matter what gender you are, rape is rape. We are up against a system that’s not designed to help us”. Another victim, who chose to remain completely anonymous shared the realities of being a man who was raped by a woman. His assault happened at a party, after repetitively telling the girl to stop, while he was hardly conscious. After confiding in a close male friend, "I'm sure she didn't hold you down" was the only response he received.
