“Truth is always the strongest argument.” Is a famous Sophocles quote. Which fits very well with the theme of this story. In Red Kayak, Brady is a student who uncovers a secret about the sinking of the D'angelo's kayak. So, Brady must make the decision to help his friends, or do the right thing and tell someone.
In the novel Orphan Train, the theme is having your home on your back like a turtle and feeling out of place. The definition of theme is the main message in a story. Molly got a turtle tattoo on her hip to symbolize her life and the struggles she has faced. Some of their struggles are harsher than others. Emotionally, Molly and Vivian experienced traumatic challenges and the feeling of loss.

In The Witches by Roald Dahl, the setting of the protagonist’s grandmother’s house in Norway plays a significant role in the exposition because the reader can understand how even though times have changed, real witches still try and take children away from their families. The text states, “my grandmother started telling me stories [...] what was far, far worse, was that witches were still with us. They were all around us,” (Dahl 14). Within this quote, the reader can realize how no matter where one goes, a witch can be anyone in their surroundings. No one is safe from these petrifying events.
