The theme that goes along with this memory is never giving up. He never left or quit the race, he pushed through and finished the race. The quote I chose was one from the movie Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and it has stuck with me ever since the first time I watched it. The quote is, “If you ain’t first, you’re last” (Ricky Bobby). In the movie, Ricky lived by these words. To him, this phrase meant that he had to be the greatest at what he did or he was nothing at all.
