The purpose of this paper is to make a comprehensive connection between the core classes taken at Concordia University—Portland throughout the duration of the Doctor of Education program. Throughout the program the core classes provide a solid structure for the essential foundation that one will need to progress successfully throughout the duration of the program. There are several themes integrated within the program that one will be able to identify as key factors for continuous effective leadership. These themes are highlighted to exemplify the cohesiveness of the program. The main components of an individual’s ethical foundation are a reflection of their mind, body, and soul. These components aid individuals in living ethical or unethical lives. While there is no handbook, or specific set of rules a person can follow to make their lives perfectly ethical. Ethical foundations begin to form when individuals are children, as an individual grows older their experiences, interactions, and relationships continue to shape the person they will ultimately become. High moral standards contribute to living ethically. Your ethical framework is what meets the eye of those you come in contact with. In a professional environment the application of ethics is essential to be successful.

According to Meizrow, Transformation theory describes memory as the process in which an object or event that we have previously interpreted through projection of our symbolic models in accordance with acquired habits of expectation or meaning perspectives, is recognized when it appears in our experience again.
