Part 1 Explain the process of competency restoration. According to Hubbard, Zapf, & Ronan, (2003), “Competency restoration is the process used when an individual charged with a crime is found by a court to be incompetent to stand trial, typically due to an active mental illness or an intellectual disability.” Before the legal process can continue, a suspect should be restored to competency. That gives the suspect the chance to consult with his or her defense lawyer to have a factual and rational understanding of the legal proceedings.

The function also shifts to a consultant or resource person to all the other members of the team – the Dietitian/Nutritionist, the Licensed Vocational Nurse, and the Fitness Instructor. The role also involves acting as a communicator, reporter, and advocate for health to the community. The Institute of Medicine (IOM) has a strong stance on nurses and leadership. They believe that nurses are a vital component to health care system and nurses in leadership roles can have a positive impact on such. Nurses are in all sorts of roles within the health care systems ranging from a staff nurse, nurse managers, to advance practice, all the way to congress (Finkelman & Kenner, 2013). In addition, they even serve in the boardroom within some health care organizations. Leadership doesn’t necessarily mean a nurse in a manager position, but a nurse who has an influence on staff.

Today’s lecture on the physician assistants (PA) was very informative. Mrs. Hughes spoke on what a physician assistant is, what they do as well as what the requirements are for those who chose the career path. PA’s are individuals whom practice medicine while also being under the supervision of medical doctors or physicians. They can work in all areas of medicine including emergency medicine, surgery and psychiatry which Mrs. Hughes works under. Within this occupation individuals have the ability to prescribe medicine, diagnose and treat mental illnesses, give immunizations as well as perform various other tasks.
The issue below was recently brought to my discovery by several high-school paraprofessionals. I was told that we should submit a pay/coverage sheet every time we cover a classroom. If what you are saying is true, there are a lot of elementary paraprofessionals level that are owed back pay; including myself. Were paraprofessionals to be paid for I.E.P. coverage, no subs, and faculty departing campus early; if we covered for 1/2 hour, hour coverage etc.? I 've been employed for thirty years, we 've only received paid for two hours or more at the elementary level.
Introduction Worldwide today there are about 14 million nurses of which in 2015 136854 were found to be in South Africa, who serve as the core of the health care system (Morteza, et al., 2012) (Anon., 2015). Professional identity is described as a career or occupational identity which is a component of an individual’s overall identity (Johnson, et al., 2012). It is said to be “ a sense of self that is derived and perceived from the role we take on in work that we do” which is amplified by one’s societal standing, how you interact with others and interpretations of one’s experiences (Johnson, et
