Reflection On My Writing

At the beginning of the course, I had pretty horrible writing skills. By this, I mean that I never wrote about anything except necessary assignments. However, since the start of the course, I have been writing and reading more on my down time. I feel like writing more on my down time has helped me with my creativity in my essays. I’ve noticed when I edit not only essays but other small assignments, I read it multiple times say it out loud and go through paper reader. Before, I was used to just read it once and think it was all I needed. But, now I need several online resources including peer editing to improve the essay. Which doesn’t come natural to me and is quite troubling for me. Now, I feel that I can through writing a cohesive essay with help from the book and the class lectures. For example, I just now learned that argument essays are meant for stating an opinion not providing someone with persuasive material, which I can use for my next courses. The most challenging task for me was keeping up with the writing assignments, both the essays and the journals. However, going along in the course I have found to prioritize my time to fit one hour every two days to writing an essay to be finished on time. This way of studying made most of the assignments easy or turned in on time. If I could change anything of my experience from this class is changing my perception of writing and my time management. I usually don’t enjoy writing an essay, but this class was pretty interesting and innovative. I found that most of the essays were directed about my experiences or researched about a topic that I didn’t get bored of.
