My service learning experience impacted me in a very positive way. Giving back to the community by volunteering my time to help animals made me very happy. It makes such a huge difference in the animals lives because you are showing them love and making them feel ecstatic. A lot of animals are scared or feel sad because they are kept in cages or have been given up by their last owners. So when you spend time with them and show them that life isn’t that scary, it makes a difference. I have volunteered at the Maui Humane Society before and I think it’s a wonderful organization. All of the workers spend their time helping these animals get the care they need and help them find a home. The Humane Society also takes in the stray or injured animals to help them get better so, they can get adopted. Volunteering here has made me really think and care for animal welfare. Seeing animals struggle with life and suffer in person really made me think about the importance of their lives. …show more content…

The most important thing that I learned is that animals lives are just as important as ours. Animals have feelings just like us so, it’s important that everyone cares about their well-being. Without animals we wouldn’t have food, clothing, transportation, a companion and more. Animals even get tested on so, we can use products that are safe.
