I am working with three programs: Programing corps, Reading corps, and Learning with Legos. I got a lot of volunteer hours at the library and had fun doing it. I loved learning with Legos the most because I got to be the leader and the kids were very fun to hang out with. That program was for elementary kids and I worked with them to build their creations and there was a theme each week. An example of a theme is super heroes, or a favorite book
Through service, I have gain a greater respect for those who participate regularly as well as those that operate and lead these services. Being involved in community groups such as the Jackson Madison County NAACP
During the Salem Witch Trials in 1692, they used to tie accused witches to chairs and throw them in a lake, if they sank they were innocent. The Salem Witchcraft Trials were crazy, irrational and disturbing times. Young girls accused their neighbors and strangers of practicing witchcraft. The town decided to hold trials to see whether or not the accused really were witches. While they awaited their trials, they were held in a filthy jail.
Previous to High School, I volunteered in the mall at Cafe Barnabas where I started to gain working experience. I got a chance to work with customers and do a lot of hands on tasks. I had a very fun time and grew strong bonds with the people I worked
I am an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer in Springfield, Massachusetts. In truth, I came here out of boredom and frustration. After struggling intensely with my mental health during my brief time in college, I made the decision to leave school and focus on getting better. In the meantime, I became a barista. The one redeeming quality of the job was interacting with members of my hometown community that I wouldn’t otherwise meet, and yet all the while I was yearning for something greater.
This experience has been different from my job experience since I have learned how to follow directions from the supervisor while helping the students with various activities. Many of the activities included homeworks, art, computers, and games. Another community service that has build up on my experience has been the North Salinas High School Migrant Program. Being a volunteer in the migrant program gave me a closer experience on working with parents and children from a migrant
Hello Professor and Classmates, As a human service professional I would have to intercede differently with a client who has a diagnosis of AIDS from a client who has been diagnosed as HIV positive for many reasons. HIV is a virus that gradually attacks the immune system, which is our body’s natural defense against illness. AIDS is a syndrome caused by the HIV virus. It is when a person’s immune system is too weak to fight off many infections.
For my service learning hours I worked in the Eagle Heights Hort 120 Garden with Ed to help in the gardens. My work included maintaining beds, harvesting plants, and putting the garden to rest for the long winter ahead. While in the garden I learned a great deal about the various plants that grew there, along with other similar species that were not in the garden. I was also able to learn more about the how to grow plants and put the information I was learning in class into use. I was also able to explore various different types of plants that I had never eaten before.
Essay #1 Throughout my high school career I myself have participated in various Service activities which I believe all have benefited the community. The one service activity that stands out the most for me is when I began two Lego Robotics teams for children in elementary school and mentored the two teams. I was inspired to help tutor these kids and the I myself had the idea of mentoring these Lego teams because I remember how much I enjoyed building Lego robots when I was a kid. so;, I thought that what better than to teach kids about Robotics.

They have no concerns toward the health of the animal, but rather what is easier and more efficient for them. Atwood argues that humans are the
I volunteered through an organization called Feeding Many. As a volunteer, we planted community gardens where the food produced is donated for those struggling to afford their daily needs. In preparation for joining the NHS, I was an active member of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) and accrued over 70 hours of volunteer time during my tenure. As a middle school student I volunteered as a leader for WEB (Where Everybody Belongs). WEB is a program that assigns a responsible leader/mentor for a group of incoming sixth graders to help them acclimate to their first year of middle school.
Service to me means, giving your all to you school and community without expecting anything in return. At a young age, I participated in many fundraising events with my dance team where we provided a service to others such as annual car washes, waiting tables at various restaurants, and organizing dances and activities for kids. In Junior High I was a key club member and we volunteered for concession stand duties, helped out at elementary basketball tournaments, and acted as line judges or referees at volleyball tournaments. Since my mom is a first grade teacher, I spent many summers setting up and organizing her classroom, and on my days off from school, I provided kids in my mom’s classroom with help in reading or math. As a part of Earth Week at our school, I did various jobs for people in my community.

The opportunity that I was faced with was to volunteer at a dog boarding facility. I had the chance to work at the facility because my mother thought I needed something to do for the summer. Because she owns a rescue, my mom knew Michelle and she thought it would be good for me to volunteer at Michelle's facility. I volunteered there almost every day during
