Out of the four characteristics of National Honor Society, I felt the most important is, a character. I chose it because what Martin Luther King Jr. he “motivates his supporters not to judge individuals by their appearance, but rather by the substance of their character”. An individual character, ups and downs, can influence others to the nature of being incredible or losing confidence from attempting. Character distinguishes how your behavior shows the way you carry yourself every day and helps build fantastic relationships.
The National Honor Society is preeminent for recognizing students with imminent grades and honorable characters, I believe this organization makes a great impact in the community and helps in the overall betterment of the student as well. I would like to be assimilated in these community services to my school and to my community. I have heard how this club makes a person a better leader with a good character and discipline. I have been looking forward to this opportunity since the beginning of High School. To me, NHS’s four pillars are essential elements to being a member of this society.
The National Honor Society is an organization with many functions, not only within school, but also within the community. I see the National Honor Society and its members as outstanding students with exceptional accomplishments and recognitions, who have stood out from others in academic achievement, community service, and leadership. It functions to provide a distinction from other high school students for the work of those in the organization. All of its members come together to enhance the quality of our community and school as a whole. If I am selected to join this organization, I will contribute my intellect and problem-solving abilities to help the organization progress in whatever it is that it pursues.
The National Honor Society is an organization that enables high school students to help and improve their school and neighboring communities. It is an immense honor and privilege to be invited to be a member of this association, and it would be an even greater honor to actively participate and add to the existing society in ACST. Joining the National Honor Society would help me grow as a person and allow me to demonstrate the 4 pillars of NHS, in effect helping our school community and region in general. Leadership and service are both exhibited by all NHS members. This year, I have been starting to become both a silent and appointed leader in class.
The National Honor Society consists of a reputable group of students that are involved in many other activities and hold themselves to the utmost standards. It is an honor to be apart of a wonderful collection of students that give their all. As all members of the NHS will attest, this organization makes their four pillars well-known and expects all students to work towards bettering themselves in those areas. These fundamental ideals have helped me to achieve my goal to be more involved in the community, by helping others and being a friend to everyone around me. Interacting with people I am not usually around, has helped me to see a different perspective in life, allowing me to be understanding of difficult situations that people are in, and still treating them the same way I would a long-time friend. The first pillar is, Scholarship which is a commitment to learning. I have always been very diligent about getting good grades, but since joining National Honor Society, I have become more focused and more organized about my school work, and many other things. It has also made me more focused about college.
As I have strived for academic excellence, I have acquired traits that are suitable for a member of the National Honor Society. Intelligence is a common quality of members of the National Honor Society, but certain traits of my personality can contribute to National Honor Society such as being adaptable, self-driven, and being goal-oriented. Along with my personality, I will be contributing my talent as a musician and my love and importance of helping others. I will continue to be involved in my community and do as much as I can to contribute. I have learned from taking on the leadership role that patience and determination are essential qualities in a leader.

The four pillars of the National Honor Society are scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These four pillars have shaped my development on becoming a stronger individual.
The National Honor Society is built upon four founding principles: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. I have a high school life filled with dedication to these four principles on the Spiritual standpoint, the Familial level, the Community level and finally at the National level. Moreover, I did begin my dedication to these same four principles even before this starting with the Boy Scouts of America and this commitment will continue along with having a rich future when I reach my fullest potential. I firmly believe that to have academic excellence is giving your best effort to maintain not just having straight As and a high GPA at or close to the edge of attaining a 4.0, but to also have the skills that help you perform your very best in college and beyond. The four pillars of National Honor society has shaped me very much so. Because of all the service I do in my community, I have learned to be humble. Leadership has shown me that if you keep as servant’s heart greater things come. My character is known as strong, dependable, trustworthy, caring, and honest. Being in a leadership position in several organizations has taught me to put others before myself.
The National Honor Society is based off of four pillars; Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Scholarship is one of the most important pillars to me. Scholarship means not only doing well in school and getting good grades, but applying what I have learned and using it everyday. I know the importance of education and feel that I am a lifelong learner. I feel very fortunate to have been raised in a family where education is a priority.

Being accepted into NHS would be a great achievement for me, because it boosts my confidence and makes me a better person while allowing me to serve others. Contributing to the community and helping others and very important in my life. I have been helping others ever since I can remember.
There are several different qualities that make up who I am as a person, but there are four that stand out when it comes to being a National Honor Society member. These include character, leadership, scholarship and service. To begin with, I feel that character is an important quality to possess. In school, I have never been written up for violating code or have served a school detention/suspension and I hope not to in the future.
One indispensable quality of a National Honors Society member is character. A person's character is shown in the way they live their life and is the distinguishing aspect of their personality. Good character is defined by the ways in which someone can take criticism willingly and accepts recommendations for improvements graciously, actively helps to eliminate negative influences in the school environment, and has powers of concentration, self discipline, and sustained attention as shown by perseverance and application to studies. I believe I exhibit these qualities. Being able to accept criticism willingly and take recommendations is a salient part of anyone's character.
