There are many people in my life that I know who exemplify the character aspect of National Honor Society, but there is one person who stands out from all the rest. This person is my mother. My mother whose name is Jerilynn Bell has many traits about her that makes her character stand out to me. She is the most selfless, hardworking, and honest person I have ever met. I remember as a kid seeing my mother go to her seven to three job and then come home exhausted.
Service, scholarship, character, and leadership are the four pillars that make the National Honor Society stand out from other organizations. Espousing these pillars, I find giving back to the community very important, which I show through my service with my church, ELO tutoring, and NHS activities including the OGES Holiday Shoppe and FHS tours. As an officer of the NHS, I will ensure we incorporate a variety of service opportunities to maintain this crucial aspect of our organization. My scholarship is displayed through challenging myself academically with a schedule containing a majority of AP courses, and involving myself in other honor societies including Mu Alpha Theta and Science Honor Society. What character qualities do you think exemplify an NHS member? How do you personally exemplify these qualities? Give specific examples. Character qualities that I think exemplify a National Honor Society member are treating everyone as equals no matter your own personal preferences, wanting to further your education not only for grades, and exceeding in your ambitions even with extreme setbacks and struggles. Treating everyone as equals no matter your own personal preferences is a crucial trait for a member of the National Honor Society because a personal bias against a certain group of people changes many different situations and influences your own character.
To be in National Junior Honor Society you have to have good character, citizenship,service, and leadership. First, I have good character. I take criticism willingly, and I also welcome recommendations. Second, I demonstrate citizenship well. Civic involvement is very important, and I have high regard to freedom, justice, and respect for the American form of government.

The four pillars of the National Honor Society are scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These four pillars have shaped my development on becoming a stronger individual.
The National Honor Society is built upon four founding principles: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. I have a high school life filled with dedication to these four principles on the Spiritual standpoint, the Familial level, the Community level and finally at the National level. Moreover, I did begin my dedication to these same four principles even before this starting with the Boy Scouts of America and this commitment will continue along with having a rich future when I reach my fullest potential. I firmly believe that to have academic excellence is giving your best effort to maintain not just having straight As and a high GPA at or close to the edge of attaining a 4.0, but to also have the skills that help you perform your very best in college and beyond. The National Honor Society is based off of four pillars; Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Scholarship is one of the most important pillars to me. Scholarship means not only doing well in school and getting good grades, but applying what I have learned and using it everyday. I know the importance of education and feel that I am a lifelong learner. I feel very fortunate to have been raised in a family where education is a priority.
The five pillars of the National Junior Honors Society have greatly affected my middle school experience. Throughout my three years here at Wisdom Lane I have strived to use the pillars as a way of my school life. Inside and outside of school I have strived to widen my educational path by using different programs and doing great in my classes. I have always attempted to go above and beyond in what I do and in my relationships with others. I have made many friends and have learned a lot about them in the amount of time given.
It is an extraordinary honor to be considered as a candidate for the National Honor Society. Being considered means I have achieved my goal in demonstrating my determination- in school and outside of school- and my willingness to aid people in my community. Being a part of such a prestigious organization is an enormous responsibility to which I will fully devote my time. Ever since I was a freshman, my goal was to work diligently to be among the highest scholars and to be accepted into this scholarly “hall of fame”. It is a great honor to be nominated as a member of the National Honor Society. There are many reasons why I want to take part in NHS. One reason why I want to be in it is to continue to grow academically with people who have the same goals as me. I want to be encouraged, not discouraged by the people around me. These values are known as the four pillars of National Honor Society, scholarship, leadership, character, and service. These values are essential to be a well-rounded member of any community. In my time at Nicolet, I have worked diligently to achieve high academic standards.
There are several different qualities that make up who I am as a person, but there are four that stand out when it comes to being a National Honor Society member. These include character, leadership, scholarship and service. To begin with, I feel that character is an important quality to possess. In school, I have never been written up for violating code or have served a school detention/suspension and I hope not to in the future.
National Honor Society is known for their members with great grades and outstanding character. I personally believe that I would fit into this club wonderfully. Finishing with a cumulative GPA of 3.6 and a 4.0 GPA last semester. With grades being the most important thing to me, I take them very seriously.
The National Honor Society is an opportunity for many students, who are well educated with dreams and leaderships skills, to upgrade themselves. The sole purpose of this organization is to endeavor leaders in different societies to help out their community. It will help colleges to notify the leaders when looking at students’ resumes, for those students in this organization will be the few who are well-developed leaders in their school. Since this will be the first time to be given the opportunity to contribute to this organization, I may not know everything about the requirements in which I need to manage.

These characteristics must be possessed by an individual in order to be a member of the society. I believe that I possess all the these four qualities and should become a member of National Honor Society. Leadership is when someone has a positive influence on people and brings out the best in them. I am a leader of the junior class student body as being a member of student council.
