The four pillars of the National Honor Society is what keeps the organization standing proud and strong. Character is makes a member distinguished from the rest. I have always planned to be respectful, dutiful, and trustworthy in all situations I may come across. Good character will eventually lead to strong leadership which is one of my future goals. I’ve always wanted to be the leader of my own company or organization and by building character, most of the time through service projects, I gain practice to put towards my goal.
I am very proud and grateful to say that I have been given the privilege of qualifying to join the National Honor Society. It would be, naturally, an honor to be a part of such a prestigious institution. However, to do so, one must epitomize its five tenets: character, responsibility, leadership, scholarship and service. Being an avid member in the community, I have grown to embody these traits. My experience and upholding of the fundamentals of character, leadership, scholarship, responsibility, and service will readily employ me to play a part in continuing the legacy that the National Honor Society possesses Though I am an active theatre-goer, I know that character is more than a part or role in a play.
The National Honor Society is an organization with many functions, not only within school, but also within the community. I see the National Honor Society and its members as outstanding students with exceptional accomplishments and recognitions, who have stood out from others in academic achievement, community service, and leadership. It functions to provide a distinction from other high school students for the work of those in the organization. All of its members come together to enhance the quality of our community and school as a whole. If I am selected to join this organization, I will contribute my intellect and problem-solving abilities to help the organization progress in whatever it is that it pursues.
The National Honor Society is an organization that enables high school students to help and improve their school and neighboring communities. It is an immense honor and privilege to be invited to be a member of this association, and it would be an even greater honor to actively participate and add to the existing society in ACST. Joining the National Honor Society would help me grow as a person and allow me to demonstrate the 4 pillars of NHS, in effect helping our school community and region in general. Leadership and service are both exhibited by all NHS members. This year, I have been starting to become both a silent and appointed leader in class.

Scholarship is an extremely significant endeavor for each student as education must be a priority. To succeed in academics, one must be motivated to pursue scholarship by working hard. Academic excellence does not come naturally for most, but requires dedication to be worthy of high scholastic merit. Leadership is also a vital characteristic of a successful student.
The National Honor Society (NHS) stands by such values as Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and character; it is these values that I strive to live by. I have received the opportunity to become a proud member of the NHS, and have been humbled by this chance. Throughout my high school career I try to be involved in anything I can help the school, from being a part of community service activities. Also, I have achieved my goal to work as hard as I possibly can to stand out among my peers. Even outside of school I have worked to uphold the values of club, and shall continue to do so if I chosen.
The National Honor Society consists of a reputable group of students that are involved in many other activities and hold themselves to the utmost standards. These fundamental ideals have helped me to achieve my goal to be more involved in the community, by helping others and being a friend to everyone around me. The first pillar is, Scholarship which is a commitment to learning. I have always been very diligent about getting good grades, but since joining National Honor Society, I have become more focused and more organized about my school work, and many other things. It has also made me more focused about college.

I believe I meet all four of these characteristics; however, with the help of this organization, I would like to improve all of these qualities. The four main traits of National Honor Society Students are scholarship, leadership, service and character. In my opinion, they are all equally important and all needed in the daily life. Being accepted into NHS would be a great achievement for me, because it boosts my confidence and makes me a better person while allowing me to serve others. Contributing to the community and helping others and very important in my life. I have been helping others ever since I can remember.
There are several different qualities that make up who I am as a person, but there are four that stand out when it comes to being a National Honor Society member. These include character, leadership, scholarship and service. To begin with, I feel that character is an important quality to possess. In school, I have never been written up for violating code or have served a school detention/suspension and I hope not to in the future.
