The National Honor Society is built upon four founding principles: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. I have a high school life filled with dedication to these four principles on the Spiritual standpoint, the Familial level, the Community level and finally at the National level. Moreover, I did begin my dedication to these same four principles even before this starting with the Boy Scouts of America and this commitment will continue along with having a rich future when I reach my fullest potential. I firmly believe that to have academic excellence is giving your best effort to maintain not just having straight As and a high GPA at or close to the edge of attaining a 4.0, but to also have the skills that help you perform your very best in college and beyond. To recap, it is having a well-rounded education with just the right academics and activities best suited to your
It is a great honor to be nominated as a member of the National Honor Society. There are many reasons why I want to take part in NHS. One reason why I want to be in it is to continue to grow academically with people who have the same goals as me. I want to be encouraged, not discouraged by the people around me. If I get into NHS, it will give me a lot of opportunities to be a leader.
For a long time ,y younger years I always assumed it was just a quality you were born with; but of course spending your youth playing team sport you hear the phrase “natural born leader” a lot, with no indication there was no other sort. But now I realize, sure you can have innate qualities that make leadership easier for you to step into but leadership can be developed, and there should probably be more emphasis on that development in some cases. And then I wonder does a “natural born leader” exist? Can you just come into the world ready to lead the masses to betterment? I’m starting to think not; put a little learning in your leadership I say!
The chance to be evaluated for the Sherwood Middle School National Junior Honor Society is an honor, and I 'm excited to try and take this opportunity, so thank you. I wanted to start out by saying, that if I’m accepted, I have plans of doing community service with some of my friends, and even if I’m not accepted those plans will not be changing. Throughout my life, I 've always tried for the best, whether it be my grades or my attitude. Reflecting a good mood to those around me is half of the battle after all.
I am extremely honored to be eligible for this opportunity to apply for the National Honor Society. Becoming a member of the National Honor Society has been a goal I set for myself since I was a student in middle school. I have been greatly looking forward to this moment for a very long time. Overall, I have worked incredibly hard these last two years to display a positive character and obtain qualities such as leadership, responsibility, and scholarship. I strongly believe I will be a productive and reliable member of the National Honor Society at Harvard H. Ellis Technical High School.
Service is an important part of me as a person. I
I always serve my community in any way possible. I am always a good leader for groups, sports, etc., I always welcome new ideas even if
The National Honor Society contains four qualities which encompasses it. These traits are scholarship, character, service, and leadership. These four pillars define the Honors Society and can also be used to portray myself. The quality of scholarship.
The National Honor Society is based off of four pillars; Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Scholarship is one of the most important pillars to me. Scholarship means not only doing well in school and getting good grades, but applying what I have learned and using it everyday. I know the importance of education and feel that I am a lifelong learner. I feel very fortunate to have been raised in a family where education is a priority.
Acquiring leadership skills along with a strong character and the sense to serve others is vital. A leader should be resourceful, dependable, selfless, and a good problem solver. I have led in many ways- inside and outside of school. Last year as a tenth grader, I was class secretary for Class Council.
Leadership can be shown in many different ways, but a good leader is skilled can excel in all leadership roles. Leadership skills are a very good traits to have, if one knows how to use them correctly. Because there are many different factors to being a leader, one needs to be compatible to any situation by using any skill necessary. Also, leadership is important in impromptu situations and situations that have been planned out with following to help. The skills one would need to embody to be a good leader is someone who has a set of personal ethics that ensures leadership, takes charge and uses, and doesn’t abuse, their power, but is also liked by their followers.
For me I perform actions that have a natural leadership mentality. Furthermore, it was not until this year when someone pointed out my actions that I noticed that I did have they natural leadership behavior. This finally resulted in me changing my attitude, intentions,
Many other people do service to make a living, to provide for their family or themselves. The word “service” has several definitions and I could write a ten-page essay going on about each definition. One definition is “the serving of God by obedience, piety, etc.” Everyday, I do a service by serving Him.
The word “Leadership” is often thought of a natural instinct that certain humans get at birth, however, that is not the case. There are people who learn quicker than others and land in leadership positions more frequently than others, but they must have had to learn the basics of leadership somewhere. Leadership can be look on a pyramid and you see that the leaders are on top and the followers are on the bottom, the people on the bottom learn how to become a leader and eventually they get to the top. It can be defined in many different ways but with the experience I have gained in my life so far, a definition of leadership that I believe in today is: “the ability to influence subordinates in order to accomplish a mission.” A leader who is well
When I think of service, I think of volunteer work, and of helping others with no expectation of payment or reward. Like most people, I have faced many challenges that have impacted my life and how I live it immensely. It also showed me how much a simple gesture of gratitude can help in a time of need. That experience is what has inspired me to work with all of the community service programs I have, such as the Wake Forest volunteen program and crosby scholars. I take as many volunteer opportunities as I can so that hopefully, like some have done for me, I can inspire someone in this world to volunteer and do good deeds to benefit
