Great use of your personality traits, during a cord situation. For me it takes like five minutes into a cord situation before I become more stable with the situation, it can only take someone with such great skills to run a cord effectively. Leaders are viewed as mentors; they influence the behavior, attitudes, and beliefs of others. A leader who says one thing and does another will eventually lose the trust of the followers; it is pertinent that a leader practices what he/she preaches. A dominant leader is one who is purposeful, visionary, and plans with others to create an impact in a situation.
As a leader act before think is not acceptable because every decision can affect to every single matter. In term of Sensing, the detail and facts are important for this style of people and they are also trust on their sense. This personal style is good for being a leader because leader tends
KEY: 1. Attitude Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus Philippians 2:3-8 (NIV) “A good attitude puts you in the place of greatest potential.
I believe leadership is a relationship. The relationship with supervisors, subordinates, and peers is an ongoing process that takes practice to become a better leader. Along with practice we must re-evaluate our leadership philosophy throughout our careers. Upon my own re-evaluation I am renewing my aspiration and commitment to our team. I expect to focus on listening to everyone for their value added to the team, learning from all of our experiences, then lead by challenging the process and promoting a common
The leadership philosophy I have adapted is a testament to the leaders I have been fortunate enough to serve with throughout my military career. I have learned many professional and personal lessons from the leaders I have served with, these lessons have helped shape me into the leader I am today. I consider myself unusually lucky when it comes to the seniors I have had the privilege to work with because I have had a mostly positive experience in 15 years. Over the years I have formulated my own philosophy with the abundance of lessons I have picked up along my military journey. As a leader I did not allocate much emphasis into what my personal leadership philosophy until I was a Staff Sergeant with probably at least 7 years’ time in service.
Some days our inspirations are not surrounded by blue skies and sunlight. Instead, they are lost between dark clouds and lightning. Those are the moments when a trait of leadership has to shine so a leader can perform its duty with its supporters. One of the traits I consider fundamental for a leader is confidence in his aspirations. With confidence, a leader can appeal to a greater audience because people believe in individuals that transmit trust through their words and actions.
When I see that my skills as a leader have made a lasting impression on a young child’s life it empowers me to continue to grow and hone my skills as a leader. My leadership style is one that uses my knowledge and my natural ability for people to like me which increases engagement with the topic I am demonstrating. When I present a subject I am knowledgeable about, people follow and listen to my presentation. I am respected among my fellow colleagues and get pleasure from showing anyone how to create or complete a project with my help. I would not consider myself an extrovert and I am not a social butterfly.
I was taught that if you do not have a reason behind your leading and your heart is not in it, People can see that and will be reluctant to follow you. Having a passion and drive for what you are doing will motivate you and the people you are leading. I feel this is so very crucial for a leader. I would not want to follow someone who is not driven to get better and help others. I was able to learn about how she has been able to improve herself and hope to do same.
Personal bias What my own understanding of bias is to prejudice or unfair. This means that I would like someone or something just because of whom or what they are. An example of being bias could be the likeness of one race or culture over another, not having a reason for not liking the other culture. I do not like certain customs of certain cultures. The idea of going through an initiation strikes me as being different and strange, like for me it might not serve a purpose.
For example, if the tasks are complex or the subordinates are not able to comprehend their task by themselves, the leader supposed to be more directive leadership to help followers by clarifying the path to the goal, making it less ambiguous. To be an effective leader, I have to behave different in different situations, sometime directive, sometime
It is not easy for me to find out that which type of leadership style has appealed to me in leadership. As it has mentioned in one article that “introverts are often reluctant to lead”( Connor and Spark), most of the time I do not have the desire to lead the group and it is not important for me to be a leader in group but when I am in a group it is important for me that what can I do for the group and I try to do my best to do my responsibility because in a group work my function will affect the other member of group as well so I don’t want to harm others because of my negligence.
I have a tendency to lack confidence which can sometimes cause me to become timid and overpowered. This is a massive area of growth for me. I am taking steps to rectify these weaknesses and allowing myself to grow into the leadership
Hence, attitudes that are stable, certain, consistent, accessible and are based on direct personal experience are a better predictor of behavior (Fiske, 2014). Also, the relationship between attitudes and behavior have been a controversial topic in the field of social psychology with some research findings suggesting that attitudes are a strong predictor of our behavior (Andrich & Styles, 1998). Consequently, social psychology theorists argued against this view, suggesting that attitudes barely predict behavior (wicker, 1969 as cited in Andrich & Styles, 1998). Hence, it was established that minimizing other environmental influences will lead to a predictable
The two important values that I have learnt are the independence and the respect. I learnt these two values since my childhood. One of the values is the independence. Independence means that you can support yourself without owning or depending on yourself concerned with livelihood or studying. You can make decision of your life without being controlled by the others.
My leadership philosophy is one driven by emotion. I want to be the leader that makes people feel. I want them to feel as though we are all part of a family and that they are cared about. I want to show them that I not only care about our job at hand but care about them personally; where their physical and mental health is always as important as reaching any goal.
