Reviewing the Self-Assessment sheet, I realize that there are more than three attributes I need to work on improving. To keep things simple, there are three key attributes that I feel would make a profound difference in my development as a leader. I understand that as a civil and construction engineer being a strong, selfless leader is crucial. The three attributes I need to work on most are agility, commitment, and integrity. Agility is the ability to handle important tasks on under pressure and being able to change plans when needed. There are so many academic paths to improve work ethic, industriousness, and organization. So many social opportunities to practice these values. It is in my power to work on improving these. Therefore, I am setting goals to start working on them now. I am going to get involved in the Engineers without Borders club. This will be a good way to start practicing selflessness, and integrity. I am planning on making a conscious effort to talk to new people everyday to aid in the development of social interaction - this too will help with commitment and integrity. Also, I plan on sticking to what I started and putting in some quality work towards my studying. I plan on finishing an engineering degree. Giving lots of time to my studying will develop commitment and a sense of grit. All of these play a role in my development as a leader. There are going to be peaks and valleys but I know that with time and commitment, it will be more natural. Implementing energy into developing these qualities will not only help with individual growth but more importantly help with providing more positive value to those around me and ultimately, make the work a better
