You do not have to be a CEO or President to become a leader. A leader is someone who wants to help others and bring new trends and ideas to better educated people in the community. The successful leader I chose is Willette Kelly. Willette Kelly is a Site leader-Educational Specialist for Development Centers Head Start. Willette Kelly has worked for Development Centers since 2014. Willette Kelly is an African American woman with four daughters and is active with her church community. Throughout her career, Willette Kelly been active in Early Childhood education for more than twenty years. She supervises fourteen teachers and three family service workers. As a recognized leader with Development Centers, Willette Kelly manages the day-to-day operations of the Winston site location to ensure that all components of the Development Center programs are operating effectively, with providing quality services for all families. Willette Kelly work closely with the program director and teachers, to make sure that the curricula and activities offered will work well with the children of Head Start. Finally, Willette Kelly serve as a consultant who work to make useful changes which make Development Center Head Start programs run effective. The environment Willette Kelly leads is safe, nurturing, learning, and warm. Willette Kelly provides an environment of learning suggestions and information that support’s children’s growth and needs. Leadership is the ability to guide people without forcing direction. An individual who leads and organization can establish a clear vision by providing the necessary information for their staff. If you are hired for a leadership or supervisory role, you should be able to lead in a positive and professional way. This sets a good example for your employees. A leader can encourage and inspire others to achieve and reach their highest potential. These attributes can be seen by supervisors. In the same way, empathy and confidence play a significant role with management. These two components can make or break a leader. Leaders can help guide employees through challenges in the workplace.
