Leadership is an art. It is a unique combination of knowing oneself and giving the best of it away for a greater purpose. To be a leader means having to put my own personal needs behind me and to put others needs in front of me. "A good leader is a person who takes a little more than his share of the blame and a little less of his share of the credit"(Arnold H. Glasow). A leader takes the time to listen to others ideas and beliefs. They encourage and support others decisions and also they know how to relate to others. I always try to bring out the best in people, through encouragement and support. My attitude plays a role in leadership because it can impact the performance of people around me and the attitude of a leader can quickly become the attitude of a team or organization. Leaders are aware of setbacks in life. I use setbacks as a stepping stone to accomplish my goals. I love having the opportunity to be the one that people look up to because I've always wanted to leave my footprint on this earth. There are many ways to leave my footprint on this earth, some small and some big. By teaching people my good habits and ways of living, I hope that they will continue to do the same as me, which will carry on my footsteps for generations to come. Having this opportunity to help and teach people brings great joy to myself. I never thought of me being the one that people admire and follow in their footsteps. I was always the follower.
