Meaning and Passion
"Can you remember who you were, before the world told you who you should be?" - Danielle LaPorte
This is one of my favorite quotes. I remember seeing it in a meme on Facebook and just staring at it for a while. It's so powerful. Do you remember who you were before society, duty, and obligation molded you into something else?
Finding meaning and passion in your life is a huge motivating factor for getting well. Whether that meaning comes from art, music, your church, your children, cooking, photography, etc., if you have activities and people in your life you enjoy to the point of being distracted from your worst physical pain, even for a moment, they are your passion.
Cultivate and nurture these passions. Even if you don't do what you love for a living, you should do what you love in life.
In addition to getting more enjoyment out of life, finding a true purpose helps you live longer, as well.
