Purpose can be elusive but when discovered it can be a powerful substance for greatness. I was good at basketball, but never made it onto the varsity team. I admired singers, but was never given the talent to reach the necessary notes with my voice. Even at a very young age, I knew that I wanted to be a lawyer and that it was my purpose in life. With this knowledge I have consequently been able to channel my emotions and create solutions by the means that I have possessed. Wise elders have helped me develop my purpose and taught me to be a leader, to be courteous, and to do for others. For a period of time I had the privilege of being raised by my grandmother Lorraine M. Jones, a doctor that practiced in the underserved community of Plainfield, NJ. Even though she could have worked in more upscale environments she remained in the community of Plainfield, NJ where she was needed. Her passion as a pediatrician was to heal children and she was beloved for it. I too have a passion for healing in the community but, I would like to work in the courtroom to serve people and develop policies. Long nights of studying, reading new cases weekly or even daily, and writing papers. It is stated that only the most dedicated individuals with a passion for law are able to survive the coursework of law school.
