“If you want to become a great leader, you need to prepare yourself to become a great leader, and the best way to do that is to study great leaders.” (Schembechler 7). Being a leader means defining and exhibiting moral and ethical courage and setting an example for everyone within any given group. Being a leader helps you teach leadership skills to your family, friends, and employees who will then help do the "heavy lifting" of moving the masses from where it is today to where it needs to be in the future. In today's day in age, people will believe that great leaders are born to lead.

I have developed leadership qualities when my Tae Kwon Do coach trusted me to lead our team during national championships. This has led me to then hold various leadership positions in undergraduate and dental school clubs. Moreover, my critical thinking abilities have excelled from being a mathematics and physics tutor. Tutoring has always challenged me to think outside the box in complicated problems, and this would allow me to use my creative skills when facing complex cases in my field. Persistence is another key element that is crucial in success.
I will continue to pursue effective leadership positions throughout my college education and my career. Before I get to inspire my supporters in the future, I must lead and galvanize the people around me today. I started my journey to leadership when I joined the Boy Scouts of America and my parents agreed to host a den of my peers. As we met in my dining room, I naturally grew to be
I am grateful to have encountered the National Society of Leadership and Success in my life. It is a pleasure to be the President of the San Juan College NSLS chapter. It has been a great semester so far. I truly believe in the society’s mission statement considering it has helped student members at San Juan College. My favorite event that the society has as a requirement for induction are the SNTs.
Hopefully in the coming years I can do more service and help more people. I would consider myself a leader, especially in the classroom. As for my leadership I hope to improve on what I have already. Being a leader on sports teams before I have learned a few things. One is that being a leader is never about yourself, it 's about getting everyone involved and listening to what others have to say. Also even though you are called a leader doesn 't mean you know everything, so if you’re ever stuck on a hard decision fine some help; never stop learning. I make sure I always remember these two things for my leadership.
It is no secret that earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree will benefit myself to grow as a professional nurse. It provides me with a more in-depth study of the physical and social science, evidence-based practice (EBP), along with nursing leadership and management roles. This combined education will expand my nursing knowledge and provide me opportunity for growth as a professional nurse. As an aspiring physician, I believe that ILS will prepare me for success both inside and outside of the classroom. Through the connections, opportunities, and support I will receive in the ILS program, I know that I will best be prepared to apply to medical school. I value mentorship and am excited to have access to faculty mentors to guide me in my progress. The close community between peers and professors intrigues me to join this community and learn from a like-minded community. As I anticipate my future with NSCS, I can predict that the outcome will be positive. Prospectively, the most important thing I can accomplish from NSCS is leadership. Leadership is having integrity and showing versatility in communities, work environment, school and home. However, it is achievable and with consistent effort, knowledge and most importantly confidence; leadership and success will be attainable.
Over the years I have learned how to communicate with people and effectively get a point across in a constructive manner. I believe this is a major contributing factor to the current leadership positions I am in. These leadership positions allow me to help the afterschool activities I am in. For example, in FBLA I am a reporter and am a sort of lieson for the media department and can quickly get messages out to the student body. I have been active in school since 5th grade where I was a safety officer and in 8th grade being apart of our student council.

I have worked very hard to earn the opportunity to even be considered for National Honors Society. Another quality I can speak to is my positive attitude. There are many qualities that make up a good leader, and I hope that I can set an example for others. I provide creative ideas, I am very passionate about everything that I am involved in, I have a drive for success, and do not break under pressure, especially in a leadership role.
All of these play a role in my development as a leader. There are going to be peaks and valleys but I know that with time and commitment, it will be more natural.
