Assessment Task 1.1 Self Assessment of Experience
The story of your experience to date
Overall my skills overall are very basic but I’ve tried a variety of outdoor activities:
• In year 10 I completed Outdoor ED as an elective; we completed a few day bush walks, mountain bike riding, rock climbing, surfing, snorkeling and orienteering.
• My family has a caravan at Lake Eppalock, for many years I've spent my summers kayaking, watering skiing and riding bikes, which encouraged my love for the outdoors. This also encouraged me to look into Bendigo as I’ve spent some time in this area.
• Recently I completed a 3-week trip in New Zealand, this enabled me to hike, kayak, zip line, white & black water raft and skydive. This also allowed me to photograph

It allowed me to learn skills and information about the outdoors, which most people don’t know. However it wasn’t offered at my school in VCE, this was a large reason for choosing this course. If it was offered I defiantly would of completed the subject and due to it being something I enjoyed in the past that was a motivation to choose this course. It highlighted something I previously enjoyed but haven't had the opportunity to further in my studies. However my knowledge for this subject is low; I want to expand my knowledge and skills in the duration of this course. Leadership is also another aspect of this course, which I enjoy. As a Senior House Captain I worked with younger students to raise money and to run sporting events in Year 12. I believe I can work well with others and my skills can be further developed throughout this course. I have always had a passion for sport and this course incorporated the fitness and also the teamwork side of that. By spending time in New Zealand it emphasised my passion for being outside and seeing the beauty around me. I spent early morning walking up trails to watch the sunrise and being able to capture with my camera, highlighted my love for landscape/outdoor photography. Travel time is a big issue for myself and this barrier can only be solved by time management. I will try to use the train time efficiently, which can allow me to do my readings and assignments in the 3 hours every day. This enables less stress for when I get home and also reduce the homework load. This productivity could set me up for a studying pattern for my university years. By working in Sunbury this is another barrier, I have already discussed my unavailability’s for this semester and as they’re very flexible it shouldn’t be too much of an
