The National Honor Society is preeminent for recognizing students with imminent grades and honorable characters, I believe this organization makes a great impact in the community and helps in the overall betterment of the student as well. I would like to be assimilated in these community services to my school and to my community. I have heard how this club makes a person a better leader with a good character and discipline. I have been looking forward to this opportunity since the beginning of High School. To me, NHS’s four pillars are essential elements to being a member of this society.
The National Honor Society is an organization that enables high school students to help and improve their school and neighboring communities. It is an immense honor and privilege to be invited to be a member of this association, and it would be an even greater honor to actively participate and add to the existing society in ACST. Joining the National Honor Society would help me grow as a person and allow me to demonstrate the 4 pillars of NHS, in effect helping our school community and region in general. Leadership and service are both exhibited by all NHS members. This year, I have been starting to become both a silent and appointed leader in class.
National Honors Society has implemented the four pillars to ensure the development of students in all areas of life. Scholarship is an extremely significant endeavor for each student as education must be a priority. To succeed in academics, one must be motivated to pursue scholarship by working hard. Academic excellence does not come naturally for most, but requires dedication to be worthy of high scholastic merit. Leadership is also a vital characteristic of a successful student.
I am honored to be among the thousands applying for such an amazing organization such as the National Honor Society (NHS). I believe that the NHS does so many remarkable things for our society, and I am certain that I can help contribute to its development. The function of the National Honors Society is to recognize the achievements of students in and outside of school. Its job is to not only commemorate those who made honor roll, but also those who have shown outstanding service, character, and leadership.
The National Honor Society is built upon four founding principles: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. I have a high school life filled with dedication to these four principles on the Spiritual standpoint, the Familial level, the Community level and finally at the National level. Moreover, I did begin my dedication to these same four principles even before this starting with the Boy Scouts of America and this commitment will continue along with having a rich future when I reach my fullest potential. I firmly believe that to have academic excellence is giving your best effort to maintain not just having straight As and a high GPA at or close to the edge of attaining a 4.0, but to also have the skills that help you perform your very best in college and beyond. To recap, it is having a well-rounded education with just the right academics and activities best suited to your
Joining National Honor Society would be an absolute pleasure. I would love to bring my communication skills, leadership, and service into this program. I consider myself to be hard-working young woman that will be the requirements to be in this group. Dedication, determination, and perseverance are only a few of the things I will bring in. I will meet the four pillars are show my scholarship, leadership, character, and service.
The National Honor Society is an organization that symbolizes character, scholarship, leadership, and services. I believe I meet all four of these characteristics; however, with the help of this organization, I would like to improve all of these qualities. First of all, I consider my self a very dedicated person. Once I set my mind to something there is no way I will not do it to the best of my abilities. I will commit myself to do my very best at every task that is given to me.
The four pillars of National Honor society has shaped me very much so. Because of all the service I do in my community, I have learned to be humble. Leadership has shown me that if you keep as servant’s heart greater things come. My character is known as strong, dependable, trustworthy, caring, and honest. Being in a leadership position in several organizations has taught me to put others before myself.
The National Honor Society is based off of four pillars; Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Scholarship is one of the most important pillars to me. Scholarship means not only doing well in school and getting good grades, but applying what I have learned and using it everyday. I know the importance of education and feel that I am a lifelong learner. I feel very fortunate to have been raised in a family where education is a priority.
The four main traits of National Honor Society Students are scholarship, leadership, service and character. In my opinion, they are all equally important and all needed in the daily life. Being accepted into NHS would be a great achievement for me, because it boosts my confidence and makes me a better person while allowing me to serve others. Contributing to the community and helping others and very important in my life. I have been helping others ever since I can remember.
It is a great honor to be nominated as a member of the National Honor Society. There are many reasons why I want to take part in NHS. One reason why I want to be in it is to continue to grow academically with people who have the same goals as me. I want to be encouraged, not discouraged by the people around me. If I get into NHS, it will give me a lot of opportunities to be a leader.
It is a great honor to have the chance to apply to be a member of NHS. Although my academic achievements are the reason why I have the opportunity to apply, my demonstration of the pillar of scholarship isn’t the only reason why I would be a good candidate for NHS. Because I exemplify all four pillars of the National Honor Society: scholarship, leadership, character, and service, I believe that I would be a good candidate for NHS. Many activities that I have done in the past, and still do today, have given me opportunities to demonstrate my leadership skills.
I strongly believe that participating in service work and having strong leadership qualities helps set people up for a brighter future. As people who are honored to have such fortunate lives, it is our duty to help those who need an extra hand. In the National Honors Society, I would love the opportunity to practice this duty often. I will try my best to participate in as many service projects that are available to us, because I value the ability we have to help others. I believe that NHS will help us grow and become more educated as students, and people, in general as we participate in service work.
The National Honor Society, NHS, was officially started by the National Association of Secondary School Principals in 1921. It started in a Pittsburg high school, but quickly grew throughout the nation. NHS has maintained a long history of admitting exemplary students into the organization. NHS developed four main tenants that have helped guide the purpose, as Zeiger (n.d.) explained: "to create enthusiasm for scholarship; to stimulate a desire to render service; to promote leadership; and to develop character in the students of secondary schools". I have chosen to do the National Honors Society, because it helped me throughout my junior and senior years in high school.
Throughout my years in school, I have heard my older friends discuss about National Honor Society. As a child, I thought it was just a club for students who had good grades. However, as I continued to grow older, I understood the message of NHS –– to be a student who not only had the brains, but to have a heart of compassion for their community. NHS highlights the importance of building your own self up as well as building up those around you. After listening to my friends’ conversations about what they had been doing with NHS, I knew that this was something big that I wanted to take place in.
