National Junior Honor Society An important factor about national junior honor society is being a leader. With all these statements in mind I believe I have many of these characteristics and others.
The National Honor Society consists of a reputable group of students that are involved in many other activities and hold themselves to the utmost standards. It is an honor to be apart of a wonderful collection of students that give their all. As all members of the NHS will attest, this organization makes their four pillars well-known and expects all students to work towards bettering themselves in those areas. Scholarship, service, leadership, and character are the pillars that the NHS built themselves upon.
The Pillars of National Honor Society have influenced my life even before I recognized what they were. For Scholarship, I have spent the past four years dedicating my attention to my studies. I’ve spent hours after school studying particular tests. Matter of fact, I spent my seventeenth birthday taking a mock exam for my Calculus test. I’ve always kept my goal of succeeding in mind and worked hard to make my family proud.

The four pillars of the National Honor Society are scholarship, service, leadership, and character. These four pillars have shaped my development on becoming a stronger individual.
The National Honor Society is built upon four founding principles: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. I have a high school life filled with dedication to these four principles on the Spiritual standpoint, the Familial level, the Community level and finally at the National level. Moreover, I did begin my dedication to these same four principles even before this starting with the Boy Scouts of America and this commitment will continue along with having a rich future when I reach my fullest potential. I firmly believe that to have academic excellence is giving your best effort to maintain not just having straight As and a high GPA at or close to the edge of attaining a 4.0, but to also have the skills that help you perform your very best in college and beyond. There are several different qualities that make up who I am as a person, but there are four that stand out when it comes to being a National Honor Society member. These include character, leadership, scholarship and service. To begin with, I feel that character is an important quality to possess. In school, I have never been written up for violating code or have served a school detention/suspension and I hope not to in the future.
What I see as the function of the National Honor Society is to encourage young adults like myself to participate more within their school and community. It allows students the ability to give and serve other people that have done so for them. This group will give many students an eye opening experience on volunteering for fellow citizens. If I were to be selected into the National Honor Society, I would contribute to the group by sharing ideas and giving useful feedback to the other students in the group. I would also provide personal experiences of certain voluntary services that I have completed, if needed.
National Honor Society has shown me that small acts of kindness or service are all it takes to make a difference in the lives of our community members. Pelé says that success is found through, “...hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice…” These principles also apply to the characteristics of the person it takes to be an influential person in society and have an impact on our community. National Honor Society has been a great way for me and my peers to hold ourselves accountable to these standards and has been an outlet to make a difference in the world around us. However, it is not just about giving back to the community but also growing as humans through the projects we serve in.
The National Honor Society is an opportunity for many students, who are well educated with dreams and leaderships skills, to upgrade themselves. The sole purpose of this organization is to endeavor leaders in different societies to help out their community. It will help colleges to notify the leaders when looking at students’ resumes, for those students in this organization will be the few who are well-developed leaders in their school. Since this will be the first time to be given the opportunity to contribute to this organization, I may not know everything about the requirements in which I need to manage.
Membership in the National Honor Society is a venerable honor reserved only for the students that best exemplify the core values of outstanding work ethic, moral character, service to the community, and leadership, as well as a high level of scholarly achievement. I believe that I possess all of these attributes, making me an excellent candidate for acceptance into the National Honor Society. I am involved deeply with our school, with our community, with our government, I have achieved high academic standards, and I am a proven and natural leader. One of my proudest achievements is my high level of achievement in my academic studies. I have been on the honor roll in all marking periods since my outset as a Central Dauphin High School student, and receiving distinguished honors in four of my six total marking periods of high school.

I take criticism willingly, and I also welcome recommendations. Second, I demonstrate citizenship well. Being a part of such a prestigious organization is an enormous responsibility to which I will fully devote my time. Ever since I was a freshman, my goal was to work diligently to be among the highest scholars and to be accepted into this scholarly “hall of fame”. Through my relentless hard work and perseverance, I believe that I possess the four characteristics of a National Honor Society member- leadership, service, character, and scholarship.
