During work I make sure that children under my care and develop and learn in a safe and supportive environment. I supervise activities like art and craft, music and home corner. Play underpins all aspects of children development and learning (DCSF, 2008).Children develop language skills, emotional creativity, intellectual and social skills through play that will make them effective learner. Play engages children’s emotion, mind and bodies. I noticed that, through play children learn how to interact with others, to manage their feelings, experiences and abilities and to be confident about themselves (Brunton. P et al, 2010).

Child observation
The observation skills are very important for those who are working with children. DFE (2012b) suggested that observation is the starting point for assessment children’s learning and development. Through this unit I learnt different observational methods and skills to access child’s progress and development.
I will be able now to observe, record, analyse children behaviour, understand children context, be sensitive to children need and be proactive it I observe any unexpected change in children development (Palaiologou. I, 2012).
