Reflective Treatment Center policy surrounding confidentiality is HIPPA (The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996). Compared to other agencies Ms. Barnes thought that Reflective Treatment Center differed from other agencies because they are very strict. They also strictly abide by the rules and regulations for their clients. A lot of their clients are mandate so they are not receiving services because they want to, they have to by law. Ms. Barnes informed me that there were no barriers to get the work done, Reflective Treatment Center resolves their issues. She also, informed me that a lot of programs just give to their clients instead of making they show progress and earning their rewards. However, it ultimately depends on the type of person my client is, but this would not be a first resort. I made this decision because when I went on my visit they came up to me, I was not taken in the atmosphere of the actual agency. My interview with Ms. Barnes was not what I expected either. She answered my questions but she was very vague, which made me feel as if she did not know the answer to some of my questions, she was not forth coming with information unless I asked. I would prefer not to use a methadone detoxification program because it is the one of the most common ways of detoxification and I view this as ineffective. It is not uncommon for addicts to leave heroin only to become addicted to methadone, which is a billion dollar industry, and harder to get rid of the addiction. I did like that the facility is involved with a larger network that has services for clients that may be pregnant, HIV positive, and various other added problems. They also provide many group services at their
