Observational learning is used by and influences everyone, even when people do not mean to do so. This learning type being the way it is with how it affects people can be utilized and Eureka High School does this in a few different ways. Some of these ways include: Teachers showing a level of respect to students and student giving it in return, the choosing of leaders in school or clubs where others can model their behavior after them, showing the steps to do a problem or writing so a student can understand how and replicate it, and showing a student's paper or work in front of the class to enforce them and other students. To reduce the amount of sleep deprivation in students a possible solution is to make the start time of high schools later in the morning. By moving the start times of high schools by an hour or two later, sleep deprivation can be greatly decreased as well as increased performance and safety. School start times must be pushed back in order to allow for students to receive a higher quality as well as more sleep. Current school start times do not allow for most students to receive optimum sleep because of the circadian rhythm in the majority of students. The amount of sleep needed for teenagers is about 9 hours per night, which does not change between ages 10 and 17 (Wolfson).
“Like good diet and exercise, sleep is a critical component to overall health,” (“How Much”). Sleep is an essential to every person's’ health. Especially young kids. A better sleep schedule comes with an stable immune system, an increase in healthy growth, and also better blood-sugar levels and a decreased risk of obesity. There have also been improvements in attendance, alertness, and student-reported depression.
Ms. Zavada told me on Tuesday that she would be absent today. Since Ms. Zavada was absent, a substitute teacher came into the classroom while I taught all of the classes. I was slightly nervous about conducting class on my own, yet I knew that I was prepared to do so. Classroom Observations Mrs. Canada is the first grade teacher that I observed, and the subject that she was teaching was reading. She had planned well-organized power points and crafting materials in advance, so she was prepared for the lesson. The two times I observed, the lesson that was being taught at both times was reading. Children in the classroom used a lot of previous knowledge for the lesson.
