INTRODUCTION
The Background of Study
In recent years, reading has become one of four basic skills such as listening, speaking, and writing that should be mastered by people, especially the students because reading is a good way to improve students’ knowledge. As stated by Inderjit (2014:71), reading is a foundation to get success in school and life. By reading, people can gain new ideas, knowledge, and information also relaxes their minds, the also improve their language and vocabulary mastery. It also provides pleasure in lives, but many young people only visit the library and bookstore when they will face the examination. The students will be able to learn a lot of different kinds of various materials if they read too much.

The purpose of the study is to find out the correlation between EFL students’ reading habit and their reading comprehension. Population and Sample of The Study
This research conducted in English Education Study Program in Pattimura University and the population and samples are from the second semester. The population are 120 students. As Dewi suggests to use the theory of Mursid Saleh (2011) that the researcher can take 30% - 50% if it consist of 101 until 500 students. The researcher decides to take 50% of the population so, 60 students will be the sample. The second semester students are chosen because students at this year are disposed have problems in reading habit and reading comprehension that can affect their academic purpose. Variable of The Study
There are two variables, independent and dependent variable. Independent variable is variable that affect another variable and dependent variable is variable that affected by independent variable.
