Christianity as an Event Christianity was not invented, rather, it was started by someone who actually existed. This person was Jesus. There have been questions that arise, that ask whether or not Jesus even existed. In order to answer the questions, there are accounts of events involving Jesus that are written by extra-biblical historians. Since Christianity is not a religion, but the Mystery coming to us, it is an event. Some would say that it is an invention, but with the evidence from the extra-biblical historians, it is proved that it is an event. Christianity is different from other Religions, because religion, by definition, means an attempt to reconnect with the mystery. There are also historical documents known as the Gospels that tell of Jesus’ earthly ministry as the long awaited messiah. Others talk about the aftermath of his preaching and how others continue to preach. If the question arises about how the information in the Gospels came to be, the answer is Apostolic Origin. The information in the Gospels was written by the Apostles who were firsthand witnesses to Jesus Christ, and they got their information from Jesus Himself.
In order to come into contact with God, the Christian Church presents a way that is like no other. Christians say that the way to come into contact with God is to encounter. The method of meeting God is to encounter Him. If we can make a friend, then we can meet God. It is as simple as that. Christianity proposes a way that humans can reconnect with the mystery that is so simple and easy, it appeals to the rich and the poor, the strong and the weak, the stable and the unstable, the young and the old. Where as other religions say that you must find God, and if, hypothetically, that means you walk around the earth five time, then the poor, weak, unstable, and old will have a more difficult time or maybe not make it at
