Gacy on Trial John Wayne Gacy is famously known for the sadistic murders of thirty-three young men. He would lure each of them in, some with the promise of a job with his self-made construction business and others with the promise of sex. On December 13th 1978, detectives requested a search warrant of Gacy’s home. The judge ordered the warrant, and when detectives arrived to the scene they discovered plenty of suspicious items in his house. Following the investigation of Gacy’s last victim Robert Piest, a two-man surveillance team watched and followed Gacy while the investigation started to unfold. The notorious killer was convicted of thirty-three murders and sentenced to death. John Wayne Gacy had the infamy of being convicted of more muder’s than anyone else in American History.

Gacy’s first offense was the murder of a young man by the name of Timothy McCoy in 1972, he went on to kill thirty- two more innocent men until he was caught in 1978 when Robert Piest went missing. On December 11, 1978 Gacy went to a pharmacy in Des Plaines, he went there to discuss with the owner Phil Torf about a new remodeling deal he was wanting. During his discussion with Mr. Torf, Robert Piest overheard Gacy saying that he only hires teenage boys at his construction business.
