On St. Patricks Day of 1942 John Wayne Gacy also known as the Killer Clown was born. His parents were John Gacy Sr. and Marion Gacy who were both Roman Catholic. As a young child John was physically and verbally abused by his father who was a well-known alcoholic. This had a major psychological effect on John. When he was six years old he stole a toy truck from a convenience store down the street. When his mother found out she made him return it and apologize to the owners. His father wasn’t so lenient about the situation. He beat john with a belt until his mother intervened which only made matters worse because his dad started calling him names like mama’s boy and saying things like he’s probably going to be queer. His lawyer told that he had sense of insanity as he committed the murder but not before or after. While on trial Gacy joked around and said that, “the only thing he was guilty of was running a cemetery without a license”. The trial didn’t last long at all only a short month later he was convicted and sentenced to death. Gacy was on death row for a long fourteen years, and had many experiences during his time. While on death row he painted pictures and sold them for money. It was because of John Gacy that in todays times inmates are not allowed to sell things and make money while in prison. On May 10, 1994 John Gacy was executed by lethal injection in the state of Illinois. He requested for his last meal a dozen deep fried shrimp, a bucket of KFC original chicken, a pound of strawberries, and an order of french fries. His final words were “kiss my ass” which kind of was expected. Yes Gacy had a very rough childhood, but that doesn’t justify doing what he did. If anything it should have made him a better person because he shouldn’t want anyone to go through what he had too. He may have been psychotic and had problems, but he knew exactly what he was doing while he was doing it. Not only was he troubled he was uncomfortable with his sexuality.
