My aunt, Kristen Vogt is a very insightful, and determined woman. I wish that one day I could accomplish my goals just as she has. Never once did she give up on what she wanted. Now she is a successful doctor with a loving husband and two kids. She has everything she has ever wanted in life. She excelled through her high school years and through her college years. Yet she remains modest about this, and refuses to give herself full credit. “I truly do not believe I would not be where I am today if it wasn’t for the amount of support I had from friends and family”, stated Kristen.

She set a goal to get into a good medical school. Thankfully she did achieve this goal successfully. Although she did face some challenges. She was not mentally prepared for the difficulties college entailed. College had challenged her, she found this shocking because school usually had come so easily to her. The classes were a different set up, she had to find new ways to study, and doing so all on her own. College taught her to be independent. She went away to college and had to adapt to living on her own for the first time.“I viewed college as a huge learning experience. Not just academically but also as a life lesson. She was not able to have those fun college memories that most people have. Most of her college days were spent studying and occasionally being with friends she had at at the University. The people she met at college had a variety of personalities. She had a very diverse friend group. The outgoing one, the shy one, the short one, the tall one, the bold one, the modest one, the tough one, and the weak one. She is still friends with almost all of the people she met in college.
