The Lombardi trophy is named after the greatest NFL coach to ever live and coach the game, Vince Lombardi. Lombardi coached arguably one of the best teams in the history of football, the 1960’s Green Bay Packers. Lombardi lead his team to victories in the first two super bowls and really established himself as one of the best coaches in the history of football.
