Changing the World as a Teenager “Today on my first day as an adult, on behalf of the world's children, I demand leaders we must invest in book instead of bullets” (biography). During this speech that Malala made she was making it aware that not only are the children not getting the education they deserve, but in some cases are being inured for fighting for their rights. Malala Yousafzai is a teenage girl was uses social media to spread the awareness about women’s rights to education. The only flaw that she has in spreading her awareness is that she mainly uses social media which does not get the word out to those who don’t have social media. Using these medias and other ones to talk about the improvement she has made with her Malala Fund. Many girls are getting education because of all the support her audience has given her. Malala Yousafzai first started to spread awareness about her cause in 2008, but was never noticed nationally until after a Taliban shot her in the head in 2012. Her story was shared across the world and many people were beginning to support her cause. She saw this as an opportunity and she said, “I wanted to speak up for my rights” (BBC). After her injury she didn’t think that what the Taliban did was right so she felt she had to fight for herself and others as well. Malala recently posted that “every refugee girl deserves 12 years of education” (Facebook). One of the comments said, “How a bullet to the brain brings out extra wise thoughts!” This shows that even though Malala is not a refugee any more she still supports them and those around her continue to support her. Sometimes those that support her are very impressed with what she has been able to do even though she had to go through a tough time in order to make this impact on the world. On one of her posts in Instagram she quoted something her father said, “Basic education begins to unlock potential, but it is secondary education that provides the wings that allow girls to fly.” Her father started a school for girls and he was one of the main reasons why she started her awareness. Even though Malala has been through a lot, her parents still continue and encourage her to never give up on the great accomplishment she is
