It is easy to assume that both women in the portraits appear pregnant. If you look closer, you will see that both of their dresses are lined with fur, an indication of their social status. Their appearance is strictly a statement of woman’s fashion for that time. However, their dresses are also an indication that wealthy merchants and not the church commissioned both of these paintings, by Eyck and Vermeer. This is something both the Northern Renaissance and Baroque periods had in common.

Slightly closer, there are plains with scattered shrubbery. Some have theorized that the semblance of Madonna could be a portrait os Lippi’s wife, Lucrezia Buti. The
If I could pick any person from history to have a conversation with I’d pick Vincent Van Gogh. I’d like to have a conversation with Vincent Van Gogh because throughout my life I have found is art and his story very interesting. One of the most interesting pieces of his story is that due to his low social class, there is a large amount of missing or inaccurate information, I’d love to have a conversation with him so I could be told a completely reliable version of the events. Vincent Van Gogh was a then unacknowledged innovator of the post impressionism art movement and this is one of my favorite art movements.

I am doing my artwork based on Pablo Picasso. Some Pablo Picassos artworks characteristics are multiple shades of one soft color and simplicity. I enjoy his art because Picasso believed that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In his art he has strong passion and I relate to this because I have to put a lot of passion into whatever it is that I do. The way my work varies from Picasso is that I like to use many vibrant colors whereas Picasso liked to use multiple shades of the same soft color.

As time advances, society desensitizes the privilege of having access to such a distinctive reference; threatening the prevalence of museums. In order for a museum to successfully fulfill its purpose, a curator must consider the authenticity, educational value, and relevance of an exhibit. While the financial factor is the basis of any establishment, it can dull the purpose that it serves.

he Madonna and the Carnation, or Madonna with Vase (1474), is an early oil painting completed by Leonardo Da Vinci. The painting shows a common Virgin and Child iconography, yet is completed with much more elaborate inclusion of detail. Mary is seated, and adorned in precious clothing, jewelry and hairstyle. The clothing is masterfully draped over Mary’s lap, and the intensity of the hue creates juxtaposition between the darkness and the shadowy elements of the background and the lightness that is used for the faces of Christ and Mary, which contributes to the disconnect throughout the image. The intricacies in Mary’s fashion, as well as the drapery, vase, and bouquet all depict the great skill of Leonardo in painting, but the combination and positioning of the elements in the plane of the painting creates an
