Nelson Mandela and the Apartheid

Nelson Mandela was the symbol of freedom. He was born in Mvezo on July 18, 1918 and died in December 5, 2013. Nelson’s father died in 1927, because of lung cancer. Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years because he was fighting for black people’s freedom. The freedom here is humans rights, their right to vote and to take actions, choose and also be treated equally. Nelson was finally the first president of south Africa that was chosen by people’s vote.

He was imprisoned for 27 years because of fighting for the freedom of South Africa’s black people. As the apartheid activity was spreading among the colored people only. Apartheid is the racial separation or the discrimination of humans right according to different skin color or others things. Nelson Mandela was trying to stop this action with the help of other black people; they had meetings to start the strike. The Civil disobedience," defiance campaign against unjust laws ", is an act that was taken by the black people due to the apartheid (discrimination of their rights and obligation due to their black skin color). Nelson Mandela toured the country encouraging people to take part in the civil disobedience in order to work together to get their freedom and rights back.
