Finally, I feel that everything that was done between Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X was a success. It may not have been the greatest success but through these two important leaders there was light shined on the crevices that people were either too afraid to point out or just didn’t know how to quite do so. Through the different techniques brought upon the leaders many people stood up full heartedly behind them. That I feel is what the speeches were all about. Bringing forth the people to solve a problem that had been around for years.
For centuries, African Americans fought a losing battle against slave owners for equality. However, in the mid- twentieth century Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X emerged, and shook the foundation of slavery in ways that will never be forgotten. The two served as influential leaders, and a symbol of unity for colored people across the nation. Though King and X had radically different means of operating, they had a similar goal in mind, equal rights for African Americans. Dr.King was born on January 15, 1929, and raised in Atlanta, Georgia.
The most important decision of a leader is the style of leading they decide to use when inspiring others, or providing a vision for the future. By looking at the past, it is proven that some leadership styles are guaranteed to be more effective than others. The leadership style of Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X during the Civil Rights provides significant evidence of how different styles of leading can turn out to be a major success or defeat. Malcolm X’s leadership style included using violence to protest against violence and unequal rights, as well as supporting the segregation of African Americans and the whites. Martin Luther King’s style included nonviolent marches and protests against violence, and peacefully fighting for integrating the blacks and whites.
In the 1960's African Americans were treated diffferently, African americans had very little to no rights. African American people were being treated very poorly and differently then how white people were African Americans wanted this to change they wanted everyone to be equal in every way. The speakers that really made a major difference were two African American men named Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm x both of these men made a huge difference in how things were back then and in how things are today. Both of the speakers were trying to change the way African Americans were getting treated. They were also trying to change the way that African Americans were being treated in the work place they wanted for them to be equal in the work place.
Their names were Malcom X and Martin Luther King. Even though they had the same idea of what they wanted, but they both had very different ways of making a change for black lives. Malcolm's way was for blacks to use violence to get equal rights. He thinks violence would work faster.
In the 1960’s and farther back, Both the African American people and the White American people were never able to see eye to eye. People like Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X pressed for the Afro-American people to rise up and renounce the rule of the White American people. Martin’s point of view was the polar opposite of x’s. He believed that Black Americans should hold peaceful protests where they could show their struggle without putting anybody’s lives in danger.
Sometimes, people don’t want to ; they would rather blend into their surroundings. I believe in standing up for what you believe in, and sticking out of the crowd to make a point. Individuals that follow their beliefs go on to make world-changing movements. For example, Gandhi led a peaceful protest because of the unfair laws that were being forced upon people at that time. He believed that he could make an impact on the world with his anti-violence actions.
Malcolm X was a human rights activist mainly known for his advocacy for violence to inspire change in the black community. Although X is considered one of the most influential African American in history I do not agree with his beliefs that included violence instead of peace, making all white men the enemy , and pro segregation views. X believed that violence was the only way for African Americans to stop the injustice they had gone through for hundreds of years. Martin Luther King Jr and Malcolm X were similar in that they both wanted to stop the wrongdoings against African Americans but they both also had completely opposite ways of doing it. King in “Martin Luther King on Malcolm X” writes about how he first met X and what he truly thinks about his ways of receiving justice for African Americans.
During the Civil Rights, blacks are not being treated equally. Members of the black community were denied jobs, and if given a job it was the lowest paying available which drove them to be upset. Two men by the names of Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X took it into their own hands and gave speeches telling how things can get resolved. They both wanted blacks to not only have equality, but they also wanted justice for the members of the black community as well as jobs. These men were trying to make change happen.
Nelson Mandela was one of the most influential civil rights activists and politicians in the world. His efforts helped bring justice to many black people in South Africa by ending racial segregation. Coretta Scott King was most well known as the wife of activist Martin Luther King Jr but she also was a great activist on her own. Even though these people might seem completely different, they actually have a lot of the same qualities that make them both great leaders.
Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. were both born 120 years apart. They were also killed ten days apart in the same month, years apart of course. Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. were one of the biggest influences on Slavery and Civil Rights. As well as being great leaders during their times. Both of these men were similar, but also had their differences.
It is very important to know and understand the people that changed and shaped the way we live today. As we look back at the past we realize that they were all mostly fighting for the same things; freedom and equality. Two figures that come to mind when I think of leaders that revolutionized the way we live and think are Martin Luther King Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi. Two of the most influential leaders that brought about change. They both led their people to what was right and they have both inspired many to keep on fighting.
Furthermore, the three texts I choose is really similar and slightly different to each other. This is because Thoreau was mostly talking about how slaves in America are abolished and both King Jr. and Mandela was talking about how Blacks were treated unfairly in a different way, but they both speak really similarly of how they are both mistreated and arrested based on their color and appearance.

The two of them never met, but they were both fighting for the same cause - a society where black and white people were equal. * How might history have been different if King had not been assassinated?
The African Nelson Mandela and the American Martin Luther King are important and influential heroes who made the world better somehow, in terms to fight for black people rights in their country. According to (www.dictionary.com), a hero is defined as “ the man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities”. Certainly, both heroes had the courage to sacrifice for black people with extreme power to resist the racism in the past using various ways. It is clear that the two heroes met their ambitions, but Mandela made bigger change worldwide and he was inspirational leader with severe willingness to fight for justice. Nelson Mandela and Martin King lived many similar situations which led to their great effort.
