Both the articles, learning to Read and Write by Frederick Douglass and Literacy Behind Bars by Malcolm X, are each narrative explaining their own individual journey learning how to read and write. They both coveted to educate himself because they saw education as an open door to freedom. Although, they both desired the same thing, they did not practice identical techniques to achieve their advancement in their education. Douglass used assistance from his mistress and later on, the little white boys in his neighborhood. On the other hand, Malcolm X educated himself in Prison with a dictionary.
King Kamehameha and Martin Luther King jr. “MLK” were two people that helped make the U.S united and be what it is today. Kamehameha had two foreign advisors named John Young and Issac Davis and they met because of the Olowalu Massacre. He fought many battles like the battle of Kepaniwai where he used foreign battle strategies like using muskets and cannons to make it easier to kill enemies. On the other hand MLK was an ordinary person who became the leader of an uprising to stop segregation.
Frederick Douglass and Sojourner Truth both spoke up about slavery because it was a harsh and cruel thing like they experienced. They both had experienced what it was like being a slave and how it was a cruel system. Douglass had learned the A, B, C’s and he was able to help other slaves escape slavery. Sojourner Truth had learned how to speak brilliantly and it impacted others about slavery.
Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr's techniques are very different, but similar. They both want the same thing: negro companies. The way they carry out this, though, is different. Malcolm wants to make his own negro company. Furthermore, Martin wants to protest peacefully by banning products from companies that do not hire negroes.
Martin Luther King Jr. and Frederick Douglass were a couple of the many mistreated African Americans in ways of different injustices. These two men worked in different ways for the same cause; becoming a free man with equal rights. Social and Racial injustices limit the successfulness a person can have in life, however with perseverance, one can push through the barriers that are placed before them. MLK and Frederick Douglass both persevered in the following ways: education to understand the ways of the people, rallying to bring people hope for the future, and not letting the words and actions bring their fighting to an end.
Finding A Way Out From the beginning of time the most significant people in history have struggled to get their messages out. The struggle to prove something they believe in. Each person probably had different obstacles to overcome. Some faced similar obstacles. But in the end, I believe Sandra Ciceneros, Fredrick Douglass, and Malcolm X just wanted to find ways to express themselves and get their points across.
Desire to be More Two great men from two different times fought great odds to become two of the greatest writers during times when they were pushed to fail. Frederick Douglas born a slave and Malcolm X a known criminal both struggled to find educational opportunities. Unlike other minorities of their time they both strived for more. They wanted to be separated from the norm, and they knew that in order for that to happen they would have to find a way to learn. They both knew in order to make a difference in life they would have to become proficient readers and writers, the fundamentals of education.
Have you ever witnessed or experienced something that made you feel blessed, but also burdened from what you have learned? Frederick Douglass in “Learning to Read” and Malcolm X in “A Homemade Education”, both experienced the burden and blessing from gaining an education. Douglass was a slave in the 1800s and Malcolm X was a prisoner in the 1940s. Both men went through a great deal of trouble to gain knowledge in reading and writing. The knowledge Douglass and Malcolm X learned caused them great miseries in their hearts, but also gave them the freedom they deserved.

Throughout the 1960s, there have been multiple philosophies from civil rights leaders. Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Junior are two very influential and famous leaders of this time. Although they had different views on distinct issues, they ultimately fought for the equivalent cause. Martin Luther King believed in nonviolence and equality for all races while being joined together.
Equal rights, the thing that people have had to fight for in history. They shouldn't even be something that people should have to fight for. But some people just decide to not let someone do something just because of their color, how ridiculous is that? But thankfully we had people in this cruel world who stood up for the colored people, whether they were also of color or just believed everyone should have equal rights. For example, Martin Luther King Jr. (or for short MLK) Was a colored man who wanted to fight for the rights of colored peopel, but not by using violence.
Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. were both born 120 years apart. They were also killed ten days apart in the same month, years apart of course. Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. were one of the biggest influences on Slavery and Civil Rights. As well as being great leaders during their times. Both of these men were similar, but also had their differences.
This speech is extremely relevant in today's society. The rights of weaker people ought to be protected. Despite the fact that Calvin Coolidge gave this speech in 1914, the values are still relevant. Unfortunately, we live in a world where some people are oppressed by their race, ethnicity, or even gender. Being mistreated, undervalued, or unheard because of your position or views in the world is no way to live.
The African Nelson Mandela and the American Martin Luther King are important and influential heroes who made the world better somehow, in terms to fight for black people rights in their country. According to (www.dictionary.com), a hero is defined as “ the man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities”. Certainly, both heroes had the courage to sacrifice for black people with extreme power to resist the racism in the past using various ways. It is clear that the two heroes met their ambitions, but Mandela made bigger change worldwide and he was inspirational leader with severe willingness to fight for justice. Nelson Mandela and Martin King lived many similar situations which led to their great effort.
NELSON MANDELA Nelson Mandela is one of the influence people in the 20th century politics. He was the first black president of South Africa from 1994 to 1999 and elected by fully representative democratic election. He was also a politician, an activist, fighting against HIV/AIDS in Africa, promoting global peace and South African anti apartheid revolutionary. One thing that he did for the Africans and affects the world was about to end the apartheid, a system that try to separated the races of black skin over white skin people in South Africa. Because of him right now there is no differentiate between those people again.
